I loved it. DS9 is hands down my favourite Trek, and Sisko is my favourite Captain. Luckily I went into the episode completely spoiler-free, and for me it was a very emotional watch. I was misty-eyed at Jake's appearance, which thrilled me. Dax's late reveal was a nice touch that I appreciated. And it felt like I'd swallowed a tennis ball when we got Avery's voice over at the end . . . Great stuff.

Agree with all of this. SAM is a ridiculously fun and charming anchor for this episode -- which blends humor and pathos with aplomb -- and all of its various subplots worked well. I can't think of anything that I would fault, it's my first 10 of the series.

We might have if we had more Klingons in Starfleet. Just because Worf didn't like the length of the dress uniform doesn't speak for all members of an entire species.

SAM is very system 1. Part of the episode was to challenge her to slow down, contemplate, and think about interrelationships. I assume that her arc will involve gaining control, becoming less impulsive, but remaining positive.

Thats not a dress, skirt or skant. Thats a long shirt tunic with belt and pants. Think jedi robes. Jayden was wearing an actual separate piece skirt on the show. Not the same thing.

You know that this is beside the point.

"I don't remember seeing a Klingon dressed this way before" is not criticism of substance. At most it's fodder for humor, which is why these responses are appropriate.

Well to be fair Jayden wasn't wearing a skant. It was a skirt. If memory serves a pleated skirt.
