Spoilers Strange New Worlds General Discussion Thread

I believe in episode 1, uhura says she can speak 32 languages including romilian. however in the undiscovered country film this was proven to be false , uhura did not know the Romulan language. maybe I am wrong and need to watch it again.

I do remember watching season 1 and been turned off by all the cool action sequences chapel was doing as a nurse and a civilian. In season 2 chapel did more action scenes than every other girl who on paper would have been better fit to do the scenes.
Since none of this happens, these are random complaints.

It's my second favorite of the streaming themes, behind PRO.
I love the opening theme for SNW.

TOS is still my favorite followed by the opening to SNW.

I also like the opening theme to ST:TMP ( and it will always be known to me is that opening even though it was co-opted in 1987 for TNG.)

None of the Berman era franchise Trek themes can hold a candle to the above three I named; and oh yeah, the theme for Star Trek the Animated Series (Circa 1973) is honestly absolute garbage. I've never liked that theme.

And the JJ Trek theme has some decent parts, but I've never really warmed up to it.

I love how TOS the SNW Sickbay transporter pad controls look.

Interesting - that looks a lot like the equipment panels Mike Minor and Lee Cole created for Phase II/The Motion Picture. Big fan of that aesthetic!
Excellent observation. It's like they took TMP and made it a little bit less embarrassed about TOS. TMP took GENEROUSLY from TOS designs, but they never wanted it it look like they did, if you follow me. In many ways Disco and SNW follow the colors and textures of TOS more than any other Star Trek ever.

(I wanted the whole show to follow the design ethos of the Disco hand phaser.)

If you look at the Phase II mockups on the Roddenberry Archive, the aesthetic is a lot closer to TOS on those sets than folks realized. Fascinating how a color palette change makes a big difference in the feel of the set.
