In my head canon, the Billie Piper Doctor has finally followed up on Fifteen's comment in Space Babies about needing to visit Star Trek.
Looks right. It's got the white "Officers and Cars Respond to Calls" plaque, which narrows it down to Hartnell, Hurt/Eccleston/Tennent, or Smith/Capaldi, and it looks bright enough that it's probably backlit, which means it could only be the latter (and that also fits with the squatter shape and more saturated blue).
I posted this on Bluesky yesterday, and I may have shared this thought before.
I would love a series of Doctor Who with a Starfleet officer as the companion. This is a character who's already used to the universe being weird and dangerous, and the reaction to say, a Cyberman, would be more likely pulling a phaser than running away. It's sorta like Izzy Sinclair in the 90s comics; Izzy was a sci-fi fan, so she was already familiar with all of the Doctor Who tropes through sci-fi, and she could hit the ground running with little explanation in a story. I feel like La'an of Strange New Worlds would work well for this, not because Christina Chong has already been on Doctor Who but because I think her attitude would fit the TARDIS... and deflate the Doctor a bit.
I would also like to see a Star Trek-style Doctor Who spin-off with a multi-racial crew in a starship, boldly going. Maybe during the 51st-century, the ship has a Draconian captain, that sort of thing.

So, guess the question is - did the Doctor save the crew of the scavenger ship? Perhaps dumping them somewhere they could survive but not be a threat?
The other question is what the heck he was up to during the events, but maybe identifying members of the scavenger crew that were more reasonable and prepping them for a regime change?

I would love to see BBC Books tell the Doctor's side of this story, and I hope whoever is commissioning books has fielded a couple of pitches.

I finally went back and watched that scene again...and those cheeky buggers. The TARDIS appears immediately after Una asks "See anything you recognize?" Brilliant.
