A book, though my mind was CONVINCED for years I saw McCoy talk to Kirk about it in an episode.
Yep. Harriman's first command was the USS Amazon, a Starfleet Parts Delivery Ship.Even John Harriman had to have commanded some other ship prior to the Enterprise-B. I know in the (always non-canon) novelverse he got the command through nepotism thanks to his father being a revered Starfleet Admiral, but even in that case he'd commanded another vessel of some kind before the 1701-B was commissioned.
But without continuity and consistency stories lose cohesion and if we stop caring about connectivity then we never have series or sagas.
Stories are an art form and must be carefully crafted. Failings of continuity are absolutely failings of the story. Whether your plot contradicts what you are meant to be a sequel/prequel to as much as if it contradicts itself.
Indeed.Jules Verne's '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," "The Mysterious Island," and "In Search of the Castaways" form a loose trilogy that contradicts itself with Captain Nemo's backstory, the years the events take place, and the locations as well.
Doesn't stop me from enjoying them.
Indeed.
The purpose of fiction is an entertaining lie to engage me with and invite me to a new place.
And Commander Harcourt Fenton Bezos as the 1st Officer.Yep. Harriman's first command was the USS Amazon, a Starfleet Parts Delivery Ship.
I certainly salute you for it. In fact I envy you for it. For some reason I am hardwired differently and must explain every minor inconsistency either through rationale or if necessary retconning and rewriting. I must also headcanon in most gaps in the timelines too. Dont ask me why Ive just got the bad brain.Jules Verne's '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea," "The Mysterious Island," and "In Search of the Castaways" form a loose trilogy that contradicts itself with Captain Nemo's backstory, the years the events take place, and the locations as well.
Doesn't stop me from enjoying them.
No duds.
It was GR's intention, per TMOST, that Kirk's first command had been a smaller vessel. Which only makes sense.

Like this?Has anyone seen any "This season on.." videos for SNW S3 yet?
None of the Trek sites have posted anything yet..?
Unrelated to that, the tune when Christine steps up to Spock at the wedding reminded me of Ahsoka's theme from The Clone Wars.
Yes! But this is the trailer for S3, I was talking about something like this:Like this?
Eh. what's the difference?Yes! But this is the trailer for S3, I was talking about something like this:
The video they post after the premiere.
Guess they didn't make one, or just letting it do with the trailer you posted.
Have they ever done one of those with any of the modern Trek shows? I certainly don't remember one being done for SNW's previous two seasons. The video they post after the premiere.
Guess they didn't make one,
I remember them doing it for DSC S3 and SNW S2 but for the life of me can't find the vids now.Have they ever done one of those with any of the modern Trek shows? I certainly don't remember one being done for SNW's previous two seasons.
