Brought back classic Andorians. Episode was..... meh. Tone didn't sit well with me
I like how his Andorian false projection looks very ENT or TOS.
There were also some TOSesque Tellarites, no tusks and smoother skin! And Bolians with no changes :luvlove:

I think they should bring in a species with two extra upper limbs. You could never catch them by surprise since four-armed is forewarned.
Amarie from Unification ;)

She could be a Triexian, of course. Peter David said that they were of similar physiology, but Edosians were a "more animated" race.
Or an Edoan :D

TNG had an entire episode dedicated to them growing a replacement spine for Worf.
That was a spinal cord problem, and the Klingons have another brain in their hips ;)
A limb is much simpler to regrow.

That green dress with what looks like snakes curling around looked amazing. The dancing is much better than in Rhapsody, and I never ever thought I'd hear Wham in Trek :D
Better than the first one, nothing really bad in it, but I hope the stories will get more interesting further into the season.

I thought the wedding dress was intentionally hideous. Over-designed with too many elements because the Q/Trelane designed it. I can't imagine Christine would have chosen such a thing in her right mind. It reminded me of the radioactive green bridesmaids dresses at Anya and Xander's non-wedding in BtVS.

I believe Season 1 of Discovery said it was 100 AU from Earth. Can't be Jupiter, as it's only 5.4 AU. The onscreen VFX made it look like Earth, or at least an earthlike planet. Just another sign about how sloppy Discovery's first season was, particularly when it came to integration of VFX and scripts.

SNW retconned it to be around Jupiter, however. If you want it to somehow make sense within universe, you can just presume it was rebuilt in a new location.
Actually - it believe was stated somewhere that what was Starbase 1 in the 23rd Century became Jupiter Station in the 24th when the Earth Space Dock facility (Which we never saw prior to STIII: TSFS) was built and entered service.

Sometime during this episode something about the show shifted for me.

I recognize all the gripes other people have brought up, all the irritations, and then there are my own as well. In the end analysis, the cast of this show just charms me with their performances so much that I realized I've just let it all go and I'm enjoying Strange New Worlds for what it is, not necessarily a Trek show as I think of a Trek show. This episode, I was about three quarters of the way through when I realized I wasn't focusing on the things that bother me- I was just enjoying it.

So there it is. SNW is what it is, and I like it. Warts and all. I'm in deep with this whole cast.

Starbase 1's location was established way back in S1 of Disco. Were you in the kitchen that long?
I didn't see much of Discovery and don't know this. Pike said "take us back to Earth" in this episode, didn't he? Not Jupiter. Earth.

Now get off my back.

So I loved this episode. After learning that the Wedding Planner was "Trelane" i went back to TOS and watched Squire of Gothos.
If you knew, it was a cute little nod to TOS. If you didn't know, it was a fun "alternate timeline" style romp.
Personally I don't object to TOS callbacks, but we've already gotten so many I'd like to see some new ground.

I don’t know if it was intentionally hideous, but it definitely was awful. Both my wife and I were “what the hell is she wearing!?”

All of which were also seen in Seasons 1 and 2.

And the Andorians in this episode did have detailed makeup, not as detailed as Discovery but still more detailed than Enterprise. The same makeup was also seen in Seasons 1 and 2.

None of these designs are new lol
