I honestly expected to see him in season two. The set-up in season one seemed like he was definitely coming back.
If he does though, they'd have to find a way to thread the needle where only characters who aren't in ST5 are aware of him, and they promise not to talk about him at all. It's already a tiny bit weird that Chapel never mentions him in passing or in any reports.

There is absolutely a story to be told with Sybok. If there was ever a character in need of narrative redemption, it's him.
he only showed up once during one of the previous seasons. Im talking about the show really needs to bring Sybok back. him being a radical Vulcan where he had his own followers yada yada.
and him being Spock's half brother or at least a student of Spock, I still want more of Sybok in the next season of Strange New Worlds. less of the Alien movie homage of the Gorn

Sybok was a character who existed only to service a really bad story. He made no other sense. Leave that nonsense alone.
Didn't they announce a casting for Sybok in season three? I'm sure I saw something on Twitter, but it was probably speculation. I'm sure he'll be back, though.

The TMP novel has Kirk in some sort of marriage contract. An of course he was married to Miramanee in TOS (Paradise Syndrome)
Sybok should have turned up when Michael Burnham was in the 23rd century, even in flashbacks. They are like weird mirrors of each other.
Finnegan's career probably bottomed out as an obnoxious Instructor at the Academy.
A Disco novel had Finnegan recruited by Section 31, because in the novels anyone who isn't a nice guy is automatically associated with Section 31 by default.
well young Scotty arrived in the last episode of Season 2. so he missed on meeting Strange New Worlds Sybok.
Plus in Star Trek 5 movie, noone has known about Sybok anyway except for Spock where Spock claims that Sybok is his brother.

They're not nitpicking, they're saying it might be complicated to bring Sybok in again on SNW for those reasons.
Kirk, McCoy and Chekov can't know about Sybok as they're the only ones who have direct interaction with Sybok before he's revealed to be Spock's brother. And even with McCoy and Chekov, there's wiggle room. Hell, McCoy should already have known something, having hosted Spock's katra. So really, as long as Kirk doesn't learn about Sybok, continuity is secure.
