The more I look at the retro-SF scene the more I see TOS, Lost In Space and Doctor Who.

I kept watching what Wesley is physically doing in those clips and he’s channeling the Shat. The way he dramatically rises, does the Kirk lean shortly before he does an acrobatic fall out of the chair.

It’s interesting how much we already know about what the ten episode will be about at this point. Granted, some of these could be happening within the same episode, but they all seem like distinctly separate episodes to me. Looks like there’s basically only two episodes left that we know absolutely nothing about.

Random observations from the trailer and scenes I can’t place right now:

• There’s what looks like the Galileo shuttle landed/stranded on an asteroid close to some glowing planetoid. Maybe that goes together with the footage of the Enterprise being hit by a blue glowing shockwave later in the trailer? Maybe that’s the telephone episode and Pike, who’s absent from all scenes featuring the telephone setup, is stranded with the shuttle?
• Is that Batel with a wig standing next to Pike in the Holodeck Murder Mystery? If so, then that would spoil her fate in the season opener.
• I just noticed that the three-armed bartender doesn’t have her third arm centered in the middle of her chest, like Arex did, but coming from where her left arm is.
• What’s it saying behind the bartender? I’m able to make out “United Federation of Planets”, but what does it say below that? “Centena”?
• Could M’Benga be talking to his new head nurse replacing Chapel in this shot?

Looks more 50s/60s than 30s/40s like Captain Proton. Especially the dayglow colors.

Maybe It's based on a Captain Proton reboot and Tom Paris was the 'purist' who went with the original.
