but on its face I’m disappointed the murder mystery has to be a costume / holodeck thing at all. When I heard that they would be doing a murder mystery in season three I thought they meant just on the ship, you know in the actual universe the show takes place. Why does this have to be holodeck thing in the first place is what I’m wondering

On its face it presents as the worse indulgences of the Berman era. It is highly disappointing.

You know, I think I take back what I said earlier about the retro sci-fi setting: There’s actually some subtle hints to the original series sets that I hadn’t picked up on at first. If there’s more stuff like that in the set design I think this will be pretty cool.

EDIT: The longer I look at it, the more nods I’m seeing. Like the colored lights on the walls and the grating light above the bridge door …
