It's not usual for a Star Trek hero ship to have noticeable differences in design from shot to shot as they switch between different miniatures and CGI. But I think that the New Jersey model is different enough that fans were supposed to spot the changes and assume that it's a slightly different design to the Enterprise in-universe. Like how the NX-02 looks a little different to the NX-01.

The ship's close enough though and she looks pretty good in HD next to the other vessels!

The differences between the NX-01 and the NX-02 are a Deflector dish and the colour of the hull.

The differences between the New Jersey and the Enterprise are far more significant. The shape of the upper saucer is entirely different, the windows are entirely different, and the secondary hull has some minor differences. Which I'm fine with.

I'm just saying it's odd to go to the trouble and use the resources required to build an entirely new model, when they could have simply used an existing model and achieved the same effect. The Constitution model used in season 4 of Enterprise was far and away a better looking rendering of a Constitution. The one seen in Picard was just ugly by comparison.

I remember when Matalas quote tweeted the info below, and I basically headcannoned the whole idea. It's not hard to imagine that she served on into the 2270s with minor upgrades to keep her ticking over.

I had to follow The Edge of Midnight afterwards because everything they posted was fun. Just plain old wacky Trek fan fun.

The idea that the Constitution fleet has variations, modifications and subclasses should be more of a thing, I feel. Half a century of service would likely yield plenty of variety. Another great example is Bill Krause's Hood.

I took this from the link below. She received her own unique refit prior to the more ubiquitous TMP-style makeover.

U.S.S. Hood was originally commissioned in 2246, and served honorably for two decades before sustaining serious damage during the M-5 Incident. As she was already scheduled for refit in 2270, the decision was made to accelerate her maintenance schedule and combine battle repairs with the refit.

The last rumor I read was May 2025. (back in December)
But one would imagine that They would have mentioned that by now.

Not necessarily. Disco's S5 April premiere date wasn't announced until early February 2024, so if SNW is indeed premiering in May, they likely wouldn't announce it any earlier than March.
