Wasn't she on M'Benga's Space Drugs at the time? The same ones which REALLY should be standard issue for Trek and carried on all away missions?Or a petite nurse Chapel knocking out a 2m tall Klingon.

I'd be more likely to believe an overweight person could run fast for a short distance than run an endurance race. Sure they were trying to be empowering I guess but it doesn't ring true. You don't see overweight people winning distance races. The 'race' was about being able to endure while feeling really, really thirsty. That's why there were bowls of water throughout the whole race... temptation.
We think of this as being familiar Trek, but what is it similar to?

I found it wasn't so much they were out of sync but rather the subtitles went by way too quickly to read properly. Not sure if it was just my streaming but the subtitles translating Culper's conversation with holo-gran were wildly out of sync.
That's a great comparison I hadn't thought of. I was thinking about Homeward and I was worried Ohvahz might commit suicide like Vorin did in that TNG episode.Burnham's "I'm not a god" strongly reminded me of "Who Watches the Watchers."

For the Title is Long and the Memory Uncertain (TOS) had a computer controlling a society too if I recall.
Fat people run faster than everyone else. Haven't you seen the Hobbit movies? But Tilly twice being portrayed as an endurance runner and me calling it preposterous is a bridge too far
I saw the theory that Culber will ascend.

Although I wouldn't object to seeing the Koala on Disco.Hopefully it'll be like that and not like this...
For Pete's sake, does anyone even watch the episodes? The only time Tilly passed anyone is after they dropped out from thirst. Going slower is actually the best strategy, since you wouldn't dehydrate yourself as quickly.
