I never said they would still be bad guys if the phage was cured. I said there are some interesting aftermath story ideas after all the organ harvesting they did on others.
Which as stated was (in universe) 800 years ago. That would be like watching a TV show set in 2024 England dealing with the aftermath on the Normans invading England in 1066. No one living in 2024 cares or thinks about it, (unless your a middle ages historian).

I's a sad panda now.

Personal taste I guess, but I think there's something to be mined there. Just like I think we could have gotten some good stories on the aftermath of the Dominion War. Rebuilding Cardassia, Starfleet, the Klingon Empire... or how about how everyone else views the Miradorn, Tholians, and everyone else who signed those non-aggression pacts with the Dominion before the war? I'm sure they are looked at as somewhat traitors to the Alpha Quadrant by some groups. There's a lot of stories that can be told after something so disastrous happened.

The phage being cured would be a huge difference with them, and very likely those around the Vidiians.

For me the gap in time is too big for me to care. Which is why setting the show so far ahead of the TOS era was a mistake IMO. The political landscape of the 23rd century should have small bearing on the 31st century. Having the Breen and Tholians as political enemies for almost 1000 years shows a stagnant Trek universe, even if its a fictional one.

On that, I agree. It does seem rather stagnant.

But the writers clearly made that decision to be further ahead than anything in the franchise up to that point. It's even past Daniels and the Temporal Cold War.

Divorcing themselves from anything related to previous shows gave them room to maneuver with making new stories. How successful that tactic has been is open to debate, to put it mildly.

I'll be perfectly honest, and saying the Breen having any sort of design continuity from the DS9 era irritated me for exactly the same reason.

Think of how much Western aesthetics have changed over the same period. Nothing should be recognizable.

And the Vidiians were among the most technologically advanced races in that region, so not sure how the other races might have dealt with them for 800 years. Probably easier to avoid Vidiians than get into a fight with their ships.

Regarding that travel technology in PRODIGY, keep in mind we still haven't seen or even heard about the Vidiians. It's very possible the Vidiians just aren't interested in going so far away from (their) known space. Might even have been forced to stay within only a few systems for defensive purposes.

And I don't think the Think Tank had that travel technology, which is a good reason why they didn't offer it.
We're actually opening a whole other can of worms regarding travel times because specific dialogue in TOS "That Which Survives", TAS (that episode where they visit the center of the galaxy) and ST5 (where they visit the center of the galaxy again) show that TOS speeds were already hopping around the galaxy and TNG onwards basically changed all that with slower speeds. There has never been an explanation within Trek and again speciffic dialogue in TOS That Which Survives like doing 1000 light years in 11.5 hours is completely incompatible with Voyager.

Everyone criticizes ST5's travel times but Shatner was using the scales that TOS established. If anything, Prodigy's travel times have gotten back to what TOS originally established

Wow, I guess this episode blew the whole "the Enterprise looks different in DISCO/SNW because it got refit again before TOS" fan theory out of the water! I look forward to the new justifications - not to mention the discrepancy with the TOS-style Connie in Picard S3 which seemed to support aforementioned fan theory...

Except it doesn't. The ISS Enterprise was built on TOS specs since that's what the Defiant came in. Then the ISS Enterprise got refit to SNW specs because, aside from that configuration being in the Defiant's computer logs for the 2250s, people in the Mirror Universe could just have plain liked that setup better (who wouldn't) and changed it to that. That's it.

If you go back and watch TOS Mirror Mirror again, you will see that the ISS Enterprise never even received the Pike to Kirk refit in the first place. Under mirror Kirk's command it's still got the chonky dome, big dish, and pointy nacelles from The Cage. So the ISS has no bearing on the Prime universe's post-Pike refit. The Pike era enterprise (for as little as it appeared in TOS) may have been retconned (which I'm fine with), but a Kirk refit is still on the table for the Prime Enterprise's future. It never happened in the mirror universe.

The technology alone should have been enough to show you they had not just stagnated but somehow backslid by a rather significant amount.

About the Warp Pod at the end, is it possible that Moll & L'ak had the warp pod on their ship and used it to get to the ISS Enterprise after their ship was cut in half by the wormhole?

If they stashed it in the shuttlebay and completely powered it down, Michael & Booker could have missed it with a periphery scan.
Especially since they wouldn't know that the 'Odd Couple' even had one.
Moll would probably have lied about how they actually got onboard anyway.

It was identified as a Terran Warp Pod from the ISS Enterprise.

IIRC, isn't Thot a military flag rank? So I guess unless and until we see any high ranking Breen military personnel...

The Primarch said that L'ak "carries the genetic code of the Yod-Thot...they who rule." So the word "Thot" probably means a leader of some kind. So yeah, that would work.

My question - and I apologize if this has already been discussed - how could the ISS Enterprise's crew survive in this universe? Wasn't MU Georgiou kind of close to a dirt nap herself?

They weren't temporally displaced like Georgiou.

Nah that was Time related not Universe. They sent her back in time within the Prime Universe to save her.
