Your welcome. In the book Rico notes the intelligence of the Arachnids ofI missed the reference; thank you.
What happened to Angel and Sybok?
QFT.Just remember: It's not an alternate timeline. It's just a different TV show
I personally think Chapel somehow figures out how to beam the baby gorn out of her body and Pike will use them in a trade to get his crew and the civilians back from the head gorn.I thought it was hilarious they felt the need to explain why the colony looked like a generic set on the Paramount backlot instead of just rolling with it.
Episode was great but I HATE they did the cliffhanger. But to be fair I doubt they thought they would have to strike for a righteous cause and be facing a long delay. Maybe they would have done it different if they did. Gonna be a long 2 years but as I said before…given the circumstances I’ll live.
And as far as cliffhangers go…let’s not get crazy here. This doesn’t touch BoBW pt1…it’s not even in the neighborhood. It’s more on par with Scorpion pt1, Year of Hell pt1 (although that wasn’t a season finale) or maybe Redemption pt1. Part of the issue here is that so many characters have unbreakable plot armor. We know Sam and M’Benga cant die. And Pike isn’t gonna get booted out of the fleet if he defies orders to mount (see what I did there) a rescue. I do worry about Ortegas though. I don’t think they kill off La’an quite yet.
I bet Batel lives but loses the arm and goes thru a Nog like experience.
Scotty 3.0 was good. I don’t mind small universe-ing him and Pelia.
did I miss Spock explain why he had to apologize to Chapel because…he doesn’t have anything to apologize for. She’s the one that did him dirty.
not gonna get into the weeds on Gorn appearance but the adult did look close to the ENT version. I did like the bit with it on the bridge.
Batel has/had a Yeoman. I guess Pike didn’t want one after Colt.
I’ll go 8/10 for the finale. And I’ll have to sleep on it but I’m leaning on 8/10 being my score for the season as a whole.
I don’t ever recall anything about them being in S2 other than the actor playing Angel saying they would be up for reprising the role. Sybok always came off as just a fun easter egg and not a future plot point beyond “The Final Frontier.”

Your welcome. In the book Rico notes the intelligence of the Arachnids of Klendathu, and that they must be intelligent in some way as dumb species don't build spaceships.
There were people saying during the early seasons of TNG that they were tired of the Klingon episodes and hoped Star Trek would forget about them.I love SNW, but, boy, am I bored of the Gorn.

Exactly. We're going to see more of these people, or at least see them more often as we approach the time where Pike gets into the beep-beep chair. This is the story of Christopher Pike, his crew, and the adventures of the Enterprise before Kirk, but Kirk is going to become captain, it is no more than a handful of years away at this point. This should be expected. It was never not coming.I don't understand how anyone can complain about characters we know will serve on Enterprise showing up on this show. Do you all assume that when Kirk takes over, there's a great reset to his crew? Scotty was there at the beginning of TOS. Why would you expect he doesn't show up before "Where No Man Has Gone Before"?
It depends. Assuming they are embracing the post-scarcity lifestyle with infinite energy (no need for nuclear/fossil fuel power plants) and 23rd century tech (infinite free food, robotic/semi-automated construction and manufacturing, free instantaneous transport, etc.), I wouldn't design something that has streets and require cars. We've about beat this to death, but I'm curious what super efficient town design you would prefer to see?
What is the lifestyle though? One where you live far away from the commercial center of a town and need to commute by vehicle to get there? I mean, that's fine, but I have to assume there's something ideological in choosing a 20th century design.Because people like that lifestyle, and if it's doable in the future they'll seek out doing it as an idyllic lifestyle like any number of past colonies we've seen in the franchise.
Same. I did not feel "Woah, cool!" at the end, I felt "Sons of bitches."Episode was great but I HATE they did the cliffhanger.
My first mental comparison was ENT's Azati Prime.
