Unsettling to see that people would be fine with a mass murderer and child killer walk around free and in a high profile position of power and influence.
Where did Jackoverfull say they would be ok with that?
They said they’d want him to have a trial. That’s not being free.
Exactly. Thank you.
and there's a witness corrobating exactly that.
A lying witness, unfortunately.

Rah deserved whatever happened to him. He was a proven killer, a self-serving lout and a master manipulator. Had he not died at M'Benga's hand some similar fate would have waited to greet him.

I don’t think that Trask and M’Benga were in Section 31. They were just special forces like Navy SEALs. I don’t like that people see Section 31 every time something special ops happens. It makes them too powerful and it lets the Federation off the hook too much. Seeing Section 31 everywhere just screams conspiracy theory way too much.
Exactly what a Section 31 operative would say! :shifty:

Probably by Joe Pesci's hand.

I'm all for peace and justice. I'm anti death penalty in 99.9% of cases. But, sometimes motherfuckers gotta pay. Sometimes, someone does something that is beyond any level of redemption. Sometimes, the only solution is a quick and sudden death. Which M'Benga delivered to a war criminal who ordered the death of civilians, children included.

I doubt there were many calling for leniency at Nuremberg when they hung those Nazi bastards.

I’m really appalled, but maybe it’s just because I’m 100% against death and believe that justice should try and rehabilitate people, not punish them.

Moreover, while he had committed crimes in the past and was using lies to support his position it’s really far from clear that he wasn’t in fact genuinely trying to do good in the present. Things are seldom black and white.

Indeed I feel we arrived at a point where some portion of Trek fans will always immediately assume it must be Section 31 the moment they see black clothes. :p

Something just occurred to me. It's nice that, unlike in discussions around The Undiscovered County - including amount the TOS cast - people aren't calling or Fine Crew racists and bigots for not trusting Klingons.

"Wolf 359 was an inside job! Changelings aren't real! The Dominion War didn't happen!"

(Damn phone.)

I think such an agency has its purpose because the Federation isn't some Care Bears utopia where all member species have evolved past the need for black ops espionage and violence in the name of democracy and peace. I am, however, worn out with seeing it onscreen.

Oh, no, I didn't forget. That crap is seared into my being. I just found the Section 31 and AI stuff to be even dumber.

Wasting Lorca's potential on a Mirror Universe reveal was offensive to me as a fan. But the Section 31 and AI garbage was even stupider and lazy.

Anyway this show overall has really dragged itself to the bottom, I now expect bad episodes from SNW and get a nice surprise when they're occasionally good, so I'm fine with just skipping next week's episode so that I don't give myself a rage induced heart attack.

take a few breath. It’s just a show. Take a deep breath. It’s just a show.
Personally I don’t understand why someone would continue to watch a show where they expect each episode to be bad.

So you really think that the system should have tried to rehabilitate Ted Bundy? Or Jeffrey Dahmer? John Wayne Gacy?

Or how about those various people who have murdered children in schools?

How about Jim Jones?

Or maybe Hitler didn't deserve to die?

I agree that life is not always black and white, but there are some people that are just plain evil and deserve to be killed. If for no other reason than to stop them from killing innocent people.
