When the Excelsior got destroyed, they needed to acknowledge Elnor’s death.
But if he wasn’t onboard it would have come over very selfish and weird if they went “Thank the prophets Elnor is on shore leave on Risa” instead.
So I guess, not mentioning him there is confirmation he’s not dead without making it weird, weirdly enough.
