Strange New Worlds Season 2 Trailer

It will be nice to have a Trek series that's not dependent on a season-long plot about a gargantuan disaster in the making. One thing I liked about SNW was the final episode of Season 1 had Number One taken into custody for breaking Starfleet regulations regarding genetically-augmented personnel serving. No galaxy-ending threat, no plot by a powerful alien enemy to destroy the Federation, no robot space tentacles emerging from a hole in the cosmos. Just...people problems and how those affect their shipmates and friends.

I’m sure some universe ending threat is coming. They won’t be able to help themselves. :)

I'm hoping for classic TOS parallel world!
That's the last thing he should try. He's playing Kirk. Not Shatner playing Kirk.

Supposedly the same universe as Shatner's Kirk. There should be some consistency in the character portrayal.

Even Peck, despite not looking like Nimoy, is aware of this and has said in interviews he tries to evoke Nimoy as much as possible. Even in some of his pronunciations. SenSORS.

Welcome to last years jokes.
Still funny.

Envoke, yes. Impersonation. No.

I like the mix of Disco and TMP uniform styles. TMP shapes with Disco ornaments. And the HIvje' returns!

The heavily damaged Connie/Sombra saucer is interesting!

I see so many people on YT reeing about the elevator joke.

When was the last time we saw a revolving door in Star Trek?
The Royale, and they also seemed confused :D

I also felt that most of the crew had a good rapport with each other. I liked that Spock picked up on Pike's distress in the first episode. Then in the last episode, Pike made it a point to give some positive recognition to his crew

Who the Fuk cares.
It's Jim Kirk in this iteration, get over it.

Nah, everyone has the right to be critical of an underwhelming performance.

Envoke, yes. Impersonation. No.

Who said anything about an impersonation? We'll see if Wesley can evoke Shatner this time, instead of the bland, generic and boring performance in SNW's S1 finale.

Shatner had Kirk down from Day One, the cadence..the energy, thats Kirk;

That Klingon, on the far right. that (house?) symbol on his coat is the same one on the Klingon we get a closeup of in this trailer.

I wonder if this will be an original character or if he'll be a reimagining of a legacy Klingon characters such as Kor, Koloth or Kang.

We shall see,

Still a work in progress at that stage for Shatner and the writers.

I liked Nimoy's quote about Bill from day one. Bill played Kirk was so much energy and exuberance, that Nimoy could gradually regress into playing Spock as cold and detached, as a counterpoint.

Nimoy said he couldn't do that alongside Jeff Hunter's very 'internal' performance.

At the end of the day, this is Anson's show and his charisma and charm completely outshadows Wesley. That was likely intended.

It's just amusing that NuPike and NuKirk are very much polar opposites of their TOS versions.

Luckily Anson and Wesley shouldn’t have any scenes together here. They’re not supposed to meet until Kirk takes command of the Enterprise
