No, they did not mess up. As Bev said, these changelings have evolved from the changelings in DS9. They are different.
To know would require actually watching the episode and paying attention.

7/10........2 points off for what they did to Ro, and 1 point off for once again the Raffi pointless side quest show.(no pun intended).
How is it pointless? It's tied to the conspiracy plot.

Well now that it is out in the open, how amazing is it that they brought back Michelle Forbes as Ensign Ro?! But why did they kill her off so soon? What an amazingly meaningful way for a beloved legacy character to go though… Ro Laren may have just sewed the seeds to save the entire Federation. Ro never abandoned her Captain and Starfleet after all. I disliked how Picard referred to Ro as having been an enemy terrorist though, the Maquis were not Starfleet or Federation enemies, they were defending their colonies from Cardassian aggression in disputed locations along the Federation/Cardassian demilitarized zone border territories. Surely Picard would have had a better understanding of just who the Maquis are and what their motives were, especially if he is friends with Janeway who would have told him all about Chakotay, B’Elanna, Tom Paris and the rest of her ex Maquis crew.

It would have been cool if Ensign Ro had mentioned that part of her motive for wanting to hunt down the Changelings was revenge against the Dominion for when they wiped out the Maquis. That could have been a good twist actually, a bit like in the Deep Space Nine two parter Home Front and Paradise Lost. But this would have made Ro a baddie again though maybe she is now a version of Valeris from TUDC if still alive? Perhaps this will turn out to be the case, Ro could have beamed off the shuttle and still be alive as part of a conspiratorial genocidal plan to wipe out the Founders?

Trust no one.

Worf sounded more like Worf this week too, as in Michael Dorn’s projection of the ‘Worf voice’. In previous episodes Dorn seemed a bit too mealy mouthed and meekly spoken, but this week he was spot on.

V'Las and his inner circle in ENT were also pretty heretical Vulcans considering they wanted to suppress the discovery of the Kir'shara and crush logic-minded dissidents including the young T'Pau and ruin Vulcan's relations with Earth. Fair enough, they were puppets of covert Romulans operating on Vulcan but still, they were pretty awful Vulcans driven by destructive goals and those Romulans were able to use them.

That reminds me of the most recent Ready Room with Wil Wheaton episode where Wil Wheaton talked about watching "old episodes" of himself before doing the Traveller episode in TNG's Season Two and asked if Dorn did something like that. Imagine Dorn watching every episode (and the TNG movies) he has been in, in preparation Q'Pid, all that.

I'm wondering if Jack Crusher isn't somehow infused with some kind of anti-Changeling virus, akin to what Section-31 infected the Great Link with via Odo. But if so... how, and why? Is it something Beverly designed and perhaps incorporated into her son's genetic structure?

Alternately, perhaps he isn't the real Jack Crusher, and is instead a Changeling himself without knowing it?

What a cameo by Ro. Nicely done.
She looked wonderful, better than her ensign days. Her last moment with Picard and her sacrifice was epic.

The infiltration of Star Fleet felt like the TNG Conspiracy episode with that parasite bug.

Good tie in with Worf via the Bjorin earing.

Picard mentioned Janeway. Hoping for a surprise cameo.

To say nothing of the fact that he knows things he shouldn't... since the events in the Devron system that he described didn't actually happen beyond the POV of Picard and us the viewers, iirc... BAD TERRY, BAD!!

I don't see an issue. Picard will presumably make a report.

How does Shaw know that he “snogged” a woman on Baku? That doesn’t seem like the sort of information that would be public.
Picard's reports are very thorough.
Now the biggest question… Who is Ro’s handler? :)
Sito

They used the wrong earring design for Ro, they used Kira's. But I won't knock them for that.

Eagle eye. Are they just different styles, or unique design to each person? That one she gave Picard was a spy device though, not the one she wore as an ensign.
