Nice!Heh, that's my fan art
I also worked on Picard in an official capacity, in case you haven't seen the Titan/Titan-A dock concept: https://twitter.com/DaveBlass/status/1633800104321712131

I am really thankful that so far, Beverly isn’t just the vessel for producing Picard’s son and then pushed to the side. That is totally something that would have happened in 90s trek.Trek has come leaps and bounds forward with character development, especially for women.
Except that they've got rooms already filled with breathable air. It wasn't going to become unbreathable for some time. The drama over switching life support off was a bit much. They'd be out (as happened) or their plan failed before running out of breathable air. There should at least have been a scene of the characters floating around, gasping for air as if Darth Vader were choking them, etc. But that shot probably would've pushed the budget of the episode up.
Agreed. And they can also beam aboard other Changelings and delete the necessary transporter records to keep them secret. You'd think the transporter would detect a Changeling. No problem with a Changeling at the controls!a transporter chief made a good choice for replacing someone, they're alone most of the time, they can keep track of who is coming or going
The thing with the holodeck running and using a separate energy source. WTF?! Basically, they could run the holodeck even after they shut down the life support.
From earlier in the thread:If the holodeck is on an independent power source so it can be used in an emergency...why not run life support on the same source?
This is the best explanation yet of the (otherwise inexplicable and ridiculous) independent holodeck power source thing. It makes far more sense than the "reason" advanced on Voyager back in the day, and it's better than what they came up with during the episode. Each to their own but it works for me.To be honest, I don't see the holodeck as having its own independent power source as being an issue. Let's not forget that Voyager (and all other late 24th Century starships) were equipped with holographic doctors, specifically for use in an emergency. So it kind of makes sense for the holographic systems to be separate.
Aliens still have the old time religion,I suppose at least we haven't fallen off the irreligious wagon yet in the 25th century. And hey that's another thing older than humanity, but admittedly more destructive than alcohol.
I almost did that too. But I watched it again and wow, it just really hit me. It was that good. But I understand your reasoning completely!I mostly only voted this a 9 instead of a 10 because I'm presuming that better episodes are still coming down the pike, and I want to reserve my 10s for The Visitor level stuff.
I can buy the holodeck having a separate power source that can be independent so they can use it for sheltering if all else fails. That's not the problem. From earlier in the thread:

Oh definitely. I didn't even ding the episode for it. Gave it a 10! But it does deserve an eye roll at least!TrekTech works at the needs of the plot,![]()
Ah yes, of course! She's a cursed Changeling.
Absolutely agreed.Crusher picking up on the birth pattern was lovely. I'm so glad the writers remembered she's smarter than the average doctor.
Link please?Fan art is already appearing on Twitter.

I wouldn’t know, I’m not an expert on 25th century power converters.Seems like that shouldn't be an issue if it was built to run on the other power source.
With you there. I think it's strongly indicated.I'm calling it now. The reason for the FX change is that the changelings we saw so far are infected by Pah Wraiths.
My point was that if there was such an independent power source and we buy either of the reasons given for running the holodeck on it, then why not life support as well? Life support trumps doctors and psychological comfort. From earlier in the thread:

I’m putting “Bev is a Changeling” back on the table — the changeling on board Titan took over a Transporter Officer.
But as someone said, that would make the whole conversation between Picard and Beverly about Jack… meaningless?
