I don't think they're a troll, they didn't rate any of the previous episodes a 1.
In fact there hasn't been any members here consistently rating episodes a 1.

The corridors are likely the least expensive to keep habital for as long as possible.
Rather be in one corridor than a dozen individual quarters.
The mess hall is another, bridge, infirmary and engineering. That’s probably it.
So, even though it has no amenities, it’s a logical safe zone.

vis a vis those two, that would be me. Kinda.
Actually, thinking about it, it’s probably logical to just open all the doors. Half the problem is to do with scrubbing out the CO2 after all, so you don’t want everyone gathered in one spot.
This is why starships need hydroponics bays.
Re: Shaw's age and demeanor, this was my thought as well:
After the Wolf 359 scene, a backstory popped into my mind: like O'Brien he was a blue collar guy who only wanted to get his hands dirty. IRL (as well as what we've seen in Trek) enlisted service-members are largely honorable, respected, and admired by the officer corps. However due to his survivor's guilt, Shaw may have (wrongly) felt that he had to "earn" his life and decided to attend the Academy. As we saw, he still very much struggles with his self-worth but he certainly came alive when he was working those nacelles on that "creeper" cart. I suspect Shaw is well on the road to absolution now.

I have to admit, that when I drink, it's not for the taste. It's to get buzzed, either with someone or a group of friends in a social situation. If it was about taste, most alcohol would be the last thing I'd choose lol.
Nobody drinks vodka for the taste. Depending on the brand, it usually either has no taste or tastes like drinking rubbing alcohol.
I'm pretty sure use of the word "pot" in that scene was just a play on words joke that didn't stick the landing for some people. I chuckled but maybe only because I'm from the era when "pot" "weed" and "Mary Jane" were in use. I'm often surprised by the things fans will pick out of an episode to clutch their pearls over.
Red Bull, Coffee, and Monster are all the “visionary substances” I need, and frankly it could be argued they are already too much.
I like the implication that under the gubbins, much of the space frame is the old Titan. Much like with the refit enterprise, you find yourself working out what they rejigged.
