Yeah but did they get that info from Paramount themselves? Or were they just speculating?
So, it's interpretation of another person's statements so not really valid.
Looks like both. Paramount+ isn't getting enough users so they are cleaning house on under performing series.
So, they cited sources then? As in "Paramount published this and stated why" type sources?
If not, then equally plausible is that Discovery was getting too expensive, and Paramount wants to save money because streaming services are now a loss leader.

Paramount plus isn't popular and isn't making money. They are course correcting with Picard. Obviously that is what's happening. It might be too late now. Hopefully they will decide to let Kurtzman go and bring in metalas as the head of Stat trek. He is at least a fan of star trek himself and gets it.
All streaming services are hitting this point. Paramount is no exception.

Kurtzman may be out. He never was a fan if star trek and had no business being ahead of it creatively. He has nearly killed the franchise.
I don't want a fan running the franchise. So hopefully Kurtzman or someone like him remains.
Terry Matalas is not in my top 100 of choices to run Star Trek.

His contract doesn't expire for another 3 years.
He was only ahead of it creatively with Discovery and one episode of Picard.
That means nothing. They can still fire him.

The rules governing these things are strict.
That has nothing to do with Discovery and everything to do with their lack of any other content and market saturation of streaming services.
Yup. Since he tanked so much trek they will save more firing him.
