Spoilers Picard Season 3 - Preview Photos/Videos Thread

It's not boring, it's Star Trek... the Conflict happens in the stories.. It's beautiful
So you're saying that TOS wasn't Star Trek then?

I ask because that's the manner in which these TNG characters are being written for this particular season. If anything TOS showed that human beings were still human; but they could still work together and maintain professionalism while still having disagreements with one another.

I'm referring to the TNG cast of late saying because Roddenberry died they get to fight with each other... and they like this drama. Of course TOS showed we are still human.. Damn it Jim, I'm just a doctor .. i am not talking about outbursts or disagreements for goodness sake.. and that kind of 'conflict' is how we work things out.

Every one can argue with me on this point, that's fine. I'm saying that I felt the episode 3's scenes w/Riker and Picard came off really petty and forced. No one has to agree with me. I just have my little voice to say what I think. Maybe I have a good point if you think about it. But it's easy to just disagree with it.

I have no star trek friends and so i come here to chime in on occasion.. My feelings about this are personal really.. about how ST is portrayed now. I am 56 and ST has been a part of me since I came home from school every day at 6 years old.. My first memory of it was TOS called Let that be your last battlefield.. where people were fighting, the Enterprise crew couldn't figure out how they could tell the difference.. Oh you find out.. some are black on the right side and white on the left and the OTHER are the opposite. That spoke to this little 6 year old and like many of the episodes .. it formed me as the human i am

I think Roddenberry was talking about a better future, not a better tv show.. But maybe that's just my own imaginings of the man's vision.

I'm not for dystopic thinking and i have visions of love, beauty, joy and hope for a better future...otherwise it would be difficult for me to get out of bed in the middle of this madness. TOS started me being a philosopher, i'm grateful for it and for Gene R. and I root for his vision.

Jeri looks hot as a Starfleet commander! And looks like Shaw is back in the game. I'm guessing this will be a very character-driven episode. Perhaps Shaw's backstory with the Borg.

Riker and Picard coming to terms with what happened.

That's interesting. Maybe we've got it the wrong way around and they brought Lore back to defeat Moriarty?
Sure, Moriarty was created as an adversary capable of outwitting Data. Even if some of Data was put into Lore, he could still defeat Moriarty. Would be interesting, but the way Geordi reacts in the one trailer, I wouldn't bet on the outcome.

Trailers are funny things, for all we know Geordi could be exasperated because Lore is about to sacrifice himself, Spock style. I'd imagine losing the last Soong-type android, and one that may have Data's memories in them, would be a big blow to some of these characters.
