The Most Disliked Episode of PICARD, Season 3 - 2025 Edition...

Welcome to our bi-yearly 'Most Disliked Episode' games! Now that the 'Least Disliked Episode' games hosted by BlueStuff (who inspired me to create these games, so thank you very much for paving the way) have concluded, we can begin the opposite side of that coin.

Here's the game. The basic idea is your standard elimination game. I'll provide a list of the episodes for each season and you need to eliminate your most favorite or the one you deem the 'best.' Please provide an EXPLANATION for why you are eliminating your choice and be sure to copy and paste the list with your choice removed. Finally, leave at least 2 eliminations by other posters before you eliminate another episode.

No tactical voting! You cannot remove an episode because you feel they would threaten your preferred episode's chance to win. Pretty simple. Enjoy!

Without question, this was the best season of PICARD. While the overall story had a few issues, it truly delivered on its promise... to be the ending the TNG crew deserved. (Unlike the travesty of NEMESIS.) That's something neither of the other 2 seasons did, so I'm not surprised season 3 is looked upon as a success and so favorably by so many.

My first save is the finale, "The Last Generation".

While I hated that the Borg were used... yet again... I love how this tied everything up for everyone. Watching the Enterprise-D on screen again was just such an indescribable joy.

Coupled with all the great moments and funny lines ("And I will make it a threesome." "Do you ever hear yourself?"), it was an ending that really fully stuck the landing... the only season of either DISCO or PICARD to do this.

What a season. Nemesis left a bit pf a osour taste as a TNG finale, bur this was just amazing.

I'll go with Imposters first as it was the suitably tense reintroduction of Michelle Forbes into Trek.

It's all so incredible! My favorite remaining is "The Bounty." The first ep to have all of the TNG characters back. That cliffhanger with Troi in captivity is such a gut punch!

Unfortunately, you can only save one at a time. As much as I wish an entire season can be saved for being good and not make it to the Finals round, there will always be a winner and runner up for each season.




Saving "Seventeen Seconds".

Riker's explanation of those 17 seconds, mirroring Picard going in the turbolift, was well done. Despite the fact Beverly looked really bad when she was explaining why she kept Jack's existence from him, that was still a great scene.

Great tension throughout the episode.

The Next Generation is next.

I just loved seeing Jack Crusher for the first time, and loved the idea that Picard and Bev had a child.

"Surrender" The climax of the story with Vadic is extremely satisfying.

Saving "No Win Scenario".

Shaw's Wolf 359 survival story was damn good acting by Todd Stashwick. Haunting and excellent.

Plus, the nebula actually giving birth was such a STAR TREK thing. It was fantastic.

Another directing win for Frakes.

The threesome line is the one line that never felt right, it's straight out of "The Orville" and even a tad much for Worf, who did occasionally make such "fish out of water" quips in TNG, but not so regularly or... "egregiously" for lack of better word. Still amusing, the line is, but also feels slightly out of place. IMHO, of course.

The Borg being used... again... definitely would have been disliked if they hadn't written them to return to form, they haven't been as scary since TBOBW if not Descent pt 1. That said, I almost get the vibe that the critters from "Conspiracy" were definitely going to be used until a last-minute idea changed that, the Shrike's ship design being more than just an unspoken callback. But I might be reading into that too much.

The reveal of the big-D is spectacular and fits in so beautifully with canonical references and thought behind the Prime Directive. The Borg takeover is highly effective. Not completely keen on the odd pairing of Dominion and Borg overall, but it doesn't not work...

"Dominion" was slightly disappointing, in that the prior episode got me so excited for all TNG characters being back on the board, and then in this ep we are again missing Worf, Troi, and (real) Riker. So I'll save "Disengage" for not having that letdown aspect and make "Dominion" the winner.

"Dominion" wins season 3.

In fact, the winner and runner up is exactly the same as the 2023 game.
