The blueprints I developed for the 1341-foot long ENTERPRISE are all done now. When Toddard started this project, I only had the Primary Hull done. You can see all the decks and all the exterior views on my site at: http://www.jbot.ca/space/1bhc.shtml Thanks again!
@everyone — it's nice to see that @Toddard's thread has inspired such a lively side-discussion, but realizing it had now been going on for three whole pages, I decided it would be better to move them over to the Fan Art Lounge where y'all are welcome to continue the conversation, without further derailing this thread. @Toddard, looking forward to the next update!
Whose? Mine? I have no plans to draw any Refit era ships. The 17 Starfleet TOS ships I did are enough. I want to do a Romulan Bird of Prey, a Klingon D7, and maybe the Gorn ship. Oh, and maybe the K7 Space Station.
Such ambitions are good things indeed! I think I'd be particularly interested in the K-series station design!
Now that I've properly learned how to use linked assets in Blender, I've been rebuilding deck 5. Deck 7 will also need an overhaul. Here's what I've got so far. The red 'Christmas tree lights' in the second photo are lighting for the crawlspace between the inboard and outboard sections of deck 7. The concave shape of the underside of the primary hull eats into deck 7 in this area.
Here's a walkthrough of the crawlspace starting in sickbay and ending in the outer ring corridor of deck 7.
I can just see that—like Warped9, you have the look down pat. I might put the grid partitions in there…and maybe just ONE of those goose-neck side-view mirror looking monitors in there…like those that sprouted from THE CAGE bridge like crabgrass. On a desk…or over the bed? Fine. Riley’s drink was laced with the spray they used to kill those…by Monsanto.
Speaking of Riley's laced drink ... how did Lenore get into Engineering and sneak up BEHIND Riley? I have a theory (you can see it in my blueprints) but I am curious to know if anyone has come up with explanations.
She's an actor - she simply acted her way past security (well, it worked for Gary in Team America World Police)
I think you should try making that a full-height walkway that extends into the deck above. And on that upper deck, sandwich it between two cabins so it's not a traffic impediment.
I thought the same thing too, after looking at the attention to detail; this is a fun venture and I'm glad Toddard is sharing this with us.
