All of this is true.Wether it's a good sample size or not depends on the size of the total population you're sampling, and we don't because P+ doesn't release viewer numbers. But, and more importantly, the question should be wether it's a representative sample of the total population. This is Trek forum. We here are, arguably, some of the most fanatical and deviated viewers of the franchise. Do we represent most viewers? On the one hand, we are the most likely to be critical. On the other hand, as we've seen with franchise after franchise, the most dedicated are also the most likely to like anything with the franchise name on it just because it has that name on it. So...

I mean if we are to return it to core values. I think when they said they want to do Star Trek, they meant do Star Trek as in TOS as opposed to Star Trek the expanded media franchise.
Of course, in a wider context, Star Trek means more than the Enterprise, but if you want to do a show that evokes the icons of TOS then arguably the Enterprise is the biggest icon of them all.
