I'm getting too old for this replicated shit.
Let people be people. Who the fuck cares! The next Trek could be all aliens and I'd still probably watch. Just let people be people, from all aspects.
I don't care what kind of people they where, they where just useless characters shoehorned in there because of their sexuality! Do you really not see the difference? Including an important character no matter his or her sexuality, I agree with. But including a completely useless character, just because he/she is trans? Just to make a point? Bullshit!
Not really. You've said these people are being hammered in and need justification. They don't. Trans is part of humanity. So it gets to be present. No justification required. That's what I've been saying all along!
STAR TREK has always engaged in political commentary ( and no not every episode, but in general, the show has always tried to bring under-represented groups into the Forefront,
Strange New Worlds is no different in this regard.
I would love to have an Israeli.TOS Kyle didn't do much other than push buttons and slide controls on a transporter console but I'm sure a lot of British fans liked having English representation with a speaking role.

Saved me some typing.Meh
Dr. Aspen was great until the (obvious) reveal. After that she was annoying OTT.
Pike's plot was holding my interest but then they moved to focus to Spock and Peck plays him so dry and one note, I just don't find him interesting. He is the only one of the recast characters who makes me feel like I'm watching a fan film. It feels like he's imitating and this version of Spock doesn't land with me. Nimoy played layers. Even early, younger Spock. This is "I just failed Kholinar" Spock.
Chapel is adorable. One of my favorite characters on the show. I never thought those words would ever come out of my brain.
Sybok!!!!
The mutiny thing was too easy and jokey. The takeover was thrilling and great but the back half of the episode didn't do it justice.
First half was great, second not so much. A disappointment for me.
Not in this forum, I'm not. And that's always the fallback position of people who are in over the heads in a debate. Point out that you're a moderator, like that means I shouldn't have an opinion and should only textually hit you with kid gloves full of unicorns and rainbows. Tough shit. You're behaving like a bigot, you get the bigot treatment. If you don't want it, again, either shut up or be better. And you are a Moderator here ...![]()
Using your logic then they should get rid of all character's that aren't the ones listed in the opening credits. No background extras, no side characters.I don't care what kind of people they where, they where just useless characters shoehorned in there because of their sexuality! Guy in Discovery. How many have you seen in Trek, except for Pike and Melora?

You were acting one first. And you Sir, are behaving like an asshole!
To quote a great man, "If you run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole. If you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole.”And you Sir, are behaving like an asshole!
Once again I'm gonna ask for examples.Agreed, and that's only one thing I have always like about Star Trek.
Maybe not Strange New Worlds alone, but nuTrek in general.
You were acting one first.
