"Following a hunch, Captain Burnham tracks Book to an old haunt from their courier days and gets drawn into a high-stakes competition for a powerful weapon." - TrekMovie.com

I could be wrong here, but I feel like - unlike with Season 1 - the mid-season break here has sapped a lot of momentum? Seems like Trek fans are more focused upon how well Prodigy's 10-episode arc finished, and are anticipating Season 2 of Picard. It feels like the end of this season may be lost in the shuffle.

In sure it will come back to people once the episodes start to air.

Nah. People will come back to it as it airs. Culture is very sensate and once it is present it will be back in the discussion.

I think S1's mid-season break happened at a good stopping point.

DSC S4? I blame Covid slowing down post-production added with the pressure for it to premiere in 2021, before the entire season was probably ready.

I don't think it was designed to be aired in two parts, but they found a spot to wedge in a break. How effective that was, I guess we're about to find out...

Add to that, Discovery and Picard are going to air concurrently for a few weeks.

It was ok. They added drama to the card game but I just didn’t really feel it that much. I did like Owo getting a lot more to do though but overall a bit of a step down from the previous 2 episodes. I much rather have more Zora development and what is happening with Hugh at this point than the DMA.

This one probably gets a 6 from me.

Ok, I don't see what the broker has to gain from letting Book and Tarka even have a shot at the mcguffin. They are two wanted criminals, and the Federation has a huge bounty and probably a reward for them. Whatever money the broker could get catching the changeling cheater and whatever latinum Book and Tarka could scrounge up is nothing compared to what an interstellar government could offer as a reward. The broker admitted he knew what was going on all along from watching the news. Why didn't he just capture Book and Tarka on the spot, and demand the Federation give him a hefty reward? If he didn't demand anything overly outrageous the Fed would have just given it to him.

Even better, he could then give the mcguffin to the Emerald Chain to be on the good graces of both the Fed and the Chain.

Quoting myself here.

I enjoyed the episode, a lot, but it definitely looks like the season was meant to be aired 13 weeks in a row.
