The only aspect of newer Survivor I don’t like is letting people back in at 6 with unfair advantages.

Happy to see Big D get so close to winning, only to lose.

Damn, that was close between him and Hannah (never thought I'd cheer her on).

So finally the women do the math and realize that the men have ganged up on them.

This season should be called "The Season in Which Most of the Houseguests Were Unbelievably Stupid at Math."

If the women had kept Claire and Alyssa, they would have easily outnumbered the men. Pick the men off, and there would still have been 3 black women to 2 non-black women, and a black woman would have won.

Math, people... I'm not very good at it, but even I know that 5 is more than 3.

Keeping Claire might have been good strategy if they could get to the finals with someone equally blamed for the betrayal, but it was an emotional thing beyond the game for her.

And I think they didn't imagine Kyland would be dumb enough to want to go to the finals with the one person who will easily trounce him.

Okay, at this point, between Xavier and Kyland, which of them has the most competition wins? Xavier threw some of them, so I suspect that if he wins, at least some of the votes will be based on charisma.

I think Xavier wins against any other that isn't Tiffany or Hannah.

Azah and Derek have a combined zero competition wins between them and literally got dragged to the end by the other four members of the Cookout. Any vote that they would get would be a protest vote, but I don't even think he's burned that many bridges.

Kyland has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and frankly, Xavier can out speak him and lay out his game. Kyland will just ramble on.

You think Tiffany or Hannah could beat him?

I hope they update us on what's happening in the jury house. And if Sarah Beth feels stupid at not having figured it out, she deserves to.

I was impressed with Azah’s win until she put up Hannah.

She’s equally dumb as the white people.

Now she’s sitting there looking like she knows how badly she f***ed up.

I now can’t imagine any world where the winner is not Xavier or Kyland.

    Yep. What an idiot.

Okay, it's official for me. There is nobody left who I want to win.

I wish it could have been Derek X.

I'd still be perfectly happy with Xavier.

He's really the only one that I'd be alright with winning. I just have no reason to watch anything up until the finale. He and Kyland are going to steamroll through Azah and Derek and we'll once again have the painful retrospective episodes and god, this season really fell flat on its face.

Episode after episode of people lying in bed, whispering strategy and saying how much they "love" and "care" about each other... sheesh.

At this point I have to ask what the actual point of the HoH room key is, when just anyone can walk in there and act like they own the place.

How is it decided who the "have-nots" are?

They should bring back the food competitions. Some of those were fun.

And if I were stuck in a house with this collection of boring people, I'd be like Tiffany as well - ever notice how many shots there were of her with a bible in her lap (apparently that's the only reading material allowed)? I'd have that thing read cover to cover by the end, and I'm atheist.

I like the casts that have respect for each other personally a lot better than the ones who are going into the DR inexplicably calling each other the devil.

Those are the seasons that I turn off, the one where everybody is a vindictive narcissistic jerk instead of a respectful gamer. The ones who think they are morally in the right, not just playing a better game.

I'm not saying I want every season to be like the abusive ones (Evil Dick comes to mind; they didn't kick him out even after he burned one of the women with his cigarette, but punished her for being angry and stressed enough to eat a burger when she was supposed to be on slop).

I just don't like people who are hypocrites. This is one of the reasons I loathe Derek F. He's all "I love you/care about you" outside of the Diary Room, but we see his true self in there, and it's not a good one.

Even Derek F is pretty mind compared to some of the other casts. Years like season 6 where the two sides of the house hated each other. Or the 'Clique' season where everyone inexplicably called Michelle the devil.

In Evil Dick's first season, the other side of the house might not have been as evil a human being as him, but they were just as hateful.

Derek may have been "mild" but the fact that he keeps believing that he deserves to be in the final two, that he has done anything but lay on his back, sleep and bitch. Whoever is running his Twitter account while he has been in the house is out there trying to defend him, but its just more of the same from them.

Xavier has paid the best end game and is the only one left I can justify being mildly happy with winning.

That season was a disaster from the get-go, because they blindsided everyone with someone from their past that they couldn't stand.

I think there was a streak of terrible seasons that was in the center of. Between the first all star season and Derrick's season there wasn't a single good one. That's the era of the show we got people like Jeff/Jordan, Brendan/Rachel, and a ton of other irritating often racist narcissists who think anyone who tries to vote them out is a horrible evil monster.

Come to think of it the only seasons between 7 and 16 that were even worth watching in retrospect are the Dan seasons. And those seasons were only good cause the awful people were kicked out by Dan. They vastly improved their casting from that period.

Is the 10pm episode tonight a real episode or a retrospect? I was out until 9 and didn't want to watch it just out of fear for Survivor spoilers in the ads for next week.

Who should start the Survivor thread? Should we start an ongoing Survivor/Big Brother thread so we don't have to start new ones?

It's a real episode. They did the final Power of Veto competition and Xavier and Azah watched the first episode of the new CSI show that premieres in October.

Azah continues to be a clueless idiot. But it will all be over tomorrow (I think Thursday is the finale, right? It's 2 hours long).

I'd like to start the new Survivor thread. I haven't been the OP for awhile on these. I saw the premiere tonight and already have my eye on a couple of players I like and a few I don't. But I'll mention those there.

Ongoing threads can get unwieldy and confusing, in my opinion. Combined threads for shows that overlap are okay. I'd be a hypocrite to say otherwise, as I once did the OP for a triple combo that included The Amazing Race.
