Discovery Season Four: Predictions, Speculation & Off The Wall Theories

The Doctor's mobile emitter was 29th century tech, so they must have a better version of it by the 32nd century. Think Eli, but mobile.

I could see Saru being promoted to Rear Admiral in charge of operations of something. Then he could still go along with Discovery whenever needed.

If you have Discovery as part of a fleet, then Saru could be the Rear Admiral lower half (a.k.a. UK Royal Navy rank is commodore) of the fleet and he could travel on Discovery. That would make Discovery the flag ship of the fleet underway (because Discovery would be traveling with the Flag officer). A flag officer is any officer above the rank of captain.

I'm assuming Discovery will be done with the dilithium mission once season 4 kicks off.

We don't know much about warp in the 32nd century. Presumably they have a form of transwarp. Therefore, the whole galaxy ought to be accessible.

They've been jumping around the galaxy giving us little insight into where they are (alpha, beta etc.).

We've got 900 years to fill in. Are any of The Federation's major rivals still out there? What happened? The Borg and The Dominion are the two obvious ones. Do they still exist? What else was out there aside from The Federation prior to The Burn?

Or, was season 3 the ultimate exercise in wiping the slate clean? Just assume everything you knew is long gone, destroyed by The Burn or simply too irrelevant in the 32nd Century to be worth mentioning?

I mean really, they can do whatever the hell they want.

Not much of a theory, sorry.

Restoring the Federation, repairing broken bonds - a lot to be done. BUT this season really has not shed much clarity on what's the overall status of the galaxy and other powers, so that will be interesting to understand. Endless opportunities really - and I hope we'll have more spin offs in this century!

They might have finished dredging the transwarp conduits by then, assuming they're all full of ship bits.

FYI, a readout at FHQ in the early part of the season mentioned the Dominion. The Borg are probably running a mail-order outlet now

The Doctor from Living Witness arrives in the Alpha Quadrant and finds Earth totally different with the time that has passed. At least I hope that happens. The Doctor also helps Grey get a mobile emitter because by now the tech does exist, since his is from the 29th Century.

With the revelation that Rapp, Coutts, Ian Alexander, del Barrio (and am I missing anyone?) play Dungeons and Dragons in real life in a group led by Noah Averbach-Katz (Ryn), they need Stamets, Detmer, Adira, and Gray (in a holobody) in the holodeck play acting a dungeon raid.

The dungeon's boss was programmed by Stamets to look just like Burnham, and Stamets immediately chops up the dungeon boss in grisly ways before finishing her off. Captain Burnham then arrives in the holodeck just in time to see Stamets standing over the dungeon boss' corpse and she and Stamets exchange uncomfortable glares.

Is Stamet's character named Vindicta?

It just occurred to me that the mycelial network and everything in it is organic right? That means it can be assimilated by the Borg right? :borg:

Seriously for a moment, it does seem very, very odd that the Borg never assimilated/discovered/knew of the mycelial network. They wouldn't even need their transwarp hubs anymore. They'd just shrug off Voyager's series finale and spore drive their way anywhere they want.

That is fantastic I like this

I'm surprised they used VFX to change Tilly's uniform stripe from command red to science blue in the 2 minute final scene. I that supposed to show she's not first officer anymore or not a part of command now?
