I think Space Seed could have done better with something from Milton as a title, like "To Reign in Hell." :-D

LOL, that "Threshold" episode should have been called, "The Amphibian Incident." Its own writer Braga is on record admitting it's the worst piece of shit he's even written (his words).

"Hope and Fear" would also be a candidate for the title "Turnabout Intruder"

"Timeless" could be "Borken Needle" to describe Harry's situation. Or "Broken Needle" but in computer development, "Bork" describes a failure due to incorrect configuration and, of course, "Needle" refers to "sounds like a skipping record" where the needle jumps back due to dust on the disc that sets it back to a moment in time. For an eminent and annoying example, check this out:

DS9 The Visitor could upend one or two certain TOS' lengthy titles with the award-winning title entry of "Why I Wanted to Kill Myself but Nobody Batted an Eyelid for Concern".

TNG "Hide and Q" could be "Qonspiracy", or "Riker's Qonspiracy" if they wanted to give it all away way too soon. Or "It's Q That Wesley Gets Impaled", for the Wesleyhaters(tm) out there. Might have boosted ratings in advance with one heck of a spoiler in the actual title too...

"Symbiosis" works rather well IMHO, but "Yar's After-School Special" would definitely be anything but generic...

    "Sarek" becomes "Mindwarp", easy peasy.

"Up The Long Ladder" becomes "Up Yours" if you want a non-generic title that not only describes the Mariposan attitudes to Riker and Pulaski, but also uses every lame Irish stereotype (I'm sufficiently part Irish and, woo, I don't resemble their remark.)

"The Naked Now" could become "Tsiolkovsky With His Clothes Off", or even "There Was a Man From Venus" and it'd be a better title as well as allowing a title drop within the episode because, hey, those are always cool. At least when Red Dwarf and Doctor Who do it.

"11001001" is too cool to even want to think to alter, but I'll do it anyway: "Fortunate Happenstance" makes for a far more generic and annoying title that fits in with half of season 1's storylines because "11001001" was a largely first rate story on top of having a novel title, which probably helped save TNG's bacon...

"Angel One" becomes "Planet of the Shoulder Pads" if they wanted to score larger ratings by namesake alone.

"When the Bough Breaks" becomes "The Hand That Teleports the Cradle" a few years early as the 1987's episode' plot is almost similar to the 1992 flick but on a galactic level (dying species steals other children in a misguided belief their species will go on, versus "hubby kill himself so pregnant widow, a nanny, who has misscarriage intends to steal the child she's nannying. I need to see that movie, it was popular at the time but the synopsis seems a lot more original than most movies made today...) And Matt McCoy is in that movie too, just not seducing Counselor Troi in too-steamy-for-Teletubby TV. With oil.

"The Price" thusly becomes "Too Steamy For Romper Room (With a Big Wormhole)".

I admit that's an even better title than any of my ideas! Kudos.

That's actually my favorite of the TOS titles. The name smoothly conveys a lot of mystery, I think.

Any of VOY's "Fair Haven" hologram episodes - "The Irish Incident" or maybe something a little more jaunty like "Here There Be Patties!"

TOS "Miri" - should be called "The Ultimate Growing Pains" or something similar to that effect. Maybe TOS isn't as immune to better titles as I thought, even though it had some fun, extravagant ones.

TOS "The Ultimate Computer" - should be titled "This Unit Must Survive" because it captures Capt. Kirk's typically supercomputer self-destructing arguments at the end (in several cases) and I think it captures the general ambiance of the episode better. And if a person is seeing this episode for the first time, I think my title sounds more mysterious/interesting.

Sorry, I kept thinking of new ones after I posted. I didn't really realize how many posts in a row I made, honest mistake.

While we're on the subject, I have one for TNG's "Birthright" - "A Serpent in the Garden of Eden."
