I really liked those titles, and they fit. "EX POST FACTO" is latin for 'after the fact', I think. That suits the situation.

"CATHEXIS" is exactly what happened, with Chakotay focusing his didembodied mind to help the crew, which wasn't revealed until much later in the episode. And the title is eerie enough, as the episode created a paranoid mood, as well.

Gonna take a stab at a few more TNG titles:

    • "The Bonding" ---> "My Mommy's Back"
    • "The Enemy" ----> "Enemy Mine" (just kidding) ----> "Of Ears and Blind Men"
    • "The Price" ----> "Wormholes Aren't Made of Chocolate"
    • "The Hunted" ----> "Planned Obsolescence"
    • "The Offspring" -----> "The Android Doesn't Fall Far from the Tree" or "Can Androids Procreate?"
    • "The Host" ------> "Is That a Symboiant or Are You Happy to See Me?

When DS9's "PROFIT AND LACE" first aired, before knowing what the title was going to be, I thought it was going to be called "DRAG QUARK".

That's certainly what I've been calling it all these years.

TNG's Sub Rosa = "Haunted Desires"

I refer to Sub Rosa as "The One Where Beverly Boinks a Space Ghost" or "The Ripoff of an Anne Rice Book". :nyah:

Speaking of Trek movies, I call TSFS as "The One With the Envietable Ending".

Or how about making the titles even worse?

There is something about those titles. Just like the closing theme song and credits. It gives off a weird nostalgic vibe or whenever you hear it or see them.

"The Romulan Incident" would have been good too, but I think "Our Distant Brothers" sounds a little more intimate.

Just got finished watching TOS "Amok Time", and thought the episode title was the only thing really wrong with it. When I hear Amok Time, I think of time gone amok, and that sounds like a time travel/ time distortion episode. I honestly have no idea what to call it, I just know that "Amok Time" as a title doesn't fit the narrative.

On a separate note, my Dad swears up and down that during the 70's reruns "The City on the Edge of Forever" was temporarily renamed "Edith Keeler Must Die!" by the network. LOL

I think TNG's "Birthright" should have been called something like "The Stories of our People" or something that captures the Klingons' intensity/passion in a more descriptive way.

I just watched VOY's "Virtuoso" - I would have jazzed up the title by calling it "Fame is a Mercurial Mistress" or "Doctor Rockstar" (based on the extreme musical fame he had with that alien planet).

I love your title for "The Offspring" - "The Android Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree." That would have been catchy enough to probably give the episode a lot more attention.

It fits if you read it as "it's time for Spock to go amok", but that's not obvious.

I once ran a rolegaming adventure involving time travel / time distortion and actually called it "Time Amok" for that exact reason and because of this title. :D

Yeah, I always read the title as "time for amuckness" instead of time itself being wonky.

I was toying with the idea of calling "Amok Time" "The Birds and the Bees of Vulcan" but I think it might possibly sound a little silly. I dunno. I'm not quite sure how a title like that would be taken.

ENT "Dead Stop" - I would have called it something like "Everyone Has Their Price" or "Price Tag Attached," something along those lines.

The pretentious titles are the best titles.

    Who doesn’t love Latin?

It’s like when an indie band names their album “I Am Not Afraid Of You And I Will Beat Your Ass”.
