To quote Galilei, E pur si muove!

Seriously, I really hope we see more Andorians back in the prime universe as well.

I'm willing to bet that we not only get to see Andorians in the prime universe later on, we we will specifically see Shukar once again. Maybe in the prime universe he's a total dick.

Yeah I found the modulated voices to be a bit distracting. Some of the Klingons in TUC had similar voice adjustments made in post and they just sounded mechanical and fake. Amazing how signal processing technology doesn't seem to have improved one iota in the past quarter century.

Stuart Baird also had Worf's voice electronically-modulated in NEM even though Michael Dorn's unaltered and natural speaking voice was used in every other appearance of Worf from 1987 to 1999.

The Wolf Inside review
The 11th episode of the series, and the second episode of the Mirror Universe arc. It is a very good continuation of the storyline from the previous episode. The introduction monologue was done rather well, describing their situation perfectly. The difference between the two universes is made more apparent. Mirror Saru is a slave aboard the ISS Shenzhou, and we see prisoners being beamed into space. Both build on what was already known about the Empire (from Mirror Mirror and
In a Mirror Darkly
)
And it leads into a later plot point. Burnham lying about the former is an indication of her respect for Saru. The ISS Shenzhou is then sent on a mission to defeat some rebels. That is the main thrust of the episode's story. The other story is where, Tilly tries to save Staments using the spores. (Really, Saru should have overridden her regarding have medical personnel present. Still, it does lead towards an interesting scene towards the end. Back to the ISS Shenzhou after arriving at the planet housing the rebels, Burnham and Tyler beam down to talk, rather than unleash torpodoes.
The Andorians and Tellarites amongst the rebels look alright, better than the Klingons (Mirror version of the Augment Virus, obviously). A very good choice to have the 'Firewolf' be Mirror Voq (although maybe it was Mirror T'Kuvma at the Mirror version of the Battle of the Binary Stars), a contrast with his Prime Self. (More on that below.) Mirror Sarek's role in the resistance/rebellion seems to be in support of Mirror Voq, vetting people he meets. (He's certainly taken back by what he sees when he melds with Burnham.)
This scene was rather well written, and shows how Burnham has developed. But another challenge, as being in the same room/tent as his Mirror self (and listening to him talk about cooperating with aliens against the Terrans) is enough for the process that L'Rell initated in Tyler-Voq to complete. Voq completely emerges and attacks his Mirror self, almost dooming Burnham (and himself) right there. This continues aboard ISS Shenzhou, where Burnham confronts him about what happened on the planet.
(If not for Mirror Saru, given kindness that Burnham had shown him earlier.) And so Voq is beamed into space... ...And rescued by Discovery, given that despite being in the Mirror Universe (as Saru points out in a very good delivery), they still abide by Federation principles, and also Burnham had smuggled the information on the Defiant on his person. Then there are the final reveals. Stamets is alive, and meets his Mirror self in the Mycelium. Mirror Georgiou is the Emperor! That's certainly interesting... 9/10.

Finally got the chance to watch this episode, no major surprises from what I saw as pretty much everyone and their dog/cat knew who Tyler was and many had already guessed that the Emperor was Georgiou.

The real question is where is the real ISS Discovery, what are they up to and when the USS Discovery returns home who if anyone will remain in the MU.

Will Lorca return with Burnham and the Discovery if he lives or will he take the throne, I don't think Emperor Georgiou will be with us for very long either way.

I can see Voq staying in the MU if he cant turn return back to his true appearance, he could also have learned lessons from his encounter with his alternate self which gives rise to the Klingon Empire we know when he returns home.

As there is literally no further mention of the Discovery in any of the future based series it may be that the ship never returns home at all.

8/10 - Solid setup episode.

Aside from that TNG episode stuck on the end of S4 of ENT the NX-01 was never mentioned in of the future based series, when we saw pictures of previous ships named ENt the NX-01 wasn't featured surely a vessel which played a key role in the creation of the Federation should have bee seen in those pictures. I guess they could have used the Ring ship design we say to indicate the vulcan design influence on early Earth spaceflight.

Finally voted--vacillated between a 9 and 10, but ended up going 10 for the bravura performance by Tyler/Voq and Burnham, especially when things came to a head and the wolf inside was released... Damn--only 4 more to go!

Enterprise is a series long retcon.

You can kind of tell what novels were written after the show had premiered with reading the copyright date, because suddenly they're referencing the NX-01 or Archer when talking about early years.

Maybe Discovery is going to retcon the prototype model that showed up in the background of Earth Space Dock to be a Crossfield lmao

It occurs to me that specific references to interphasic space from TOS and various references to Enterprise characters and events may also lay the groundwork for digging up the augment virus and its potential antidote. Its existence may directly impact what happens with the Klingons back in the Prime Universe. This series has proven to require a-priori knowledge of what happened in other series.

It really doesn't. Nothing that's happened on this show has required any further knowledge than what has already been included in this show.

Voq just has a case of the old "rubber lip lisp."

I wouldn't hold it against him.
