Not me.I have no issue with it feeling a bit like BSG. After all, how many Trek-fans, after watching BSG were wishing that STAR TREK could have a face-lift like this.
I think BSG is one of the most overrated pieces of shit in TV history.

Oh, no I can honestly say that while this episode was very good, CBS All Access is still a pile of antiquated technology. Once again, I had to forego the Roku on my nice, big TV and watch it via Microsoft Edge, and in 480p on my PC. The All Access app is awful, CBS' delivery method is atrocious. I wish Netflix had control over this, as there wouldn't be any issues, and I'd be seeing the episode in 1080p on my Roku.I liked it and will enjoy a second run-through later on. What I like most here is that we've shed all of the no-CBSAA whiners in favor of people actually watching the show.

And just because this is a bit different, it doesn't erase the hundreds and hundreds of episodes that have gone before - and they're all still out there.
I'm intrigued and can't wait for next week.
8/10. Not perfect but I LOVE this episode! So good. Should have been the pilot. The main characters are actually interesting and good mystery!
The one complaint I have (which is a fear I’ve had for awhile is that

Yes I know.A legacy of American Chinese food. Fortune cookies are not Chinese food.
Looks pretty good on the CBS app for XBox. Playing the show on an iPad while plugged into HDMI, however, shows a shrunken picture on a big screen for some idiotic reason.Oh, no I can honestly say that while this episode was very good, CBS All Access is still a pile of antiquated technology. It picked up from the beginning but I still don't feel I know the cast. Trek pilots have often been underwhelming but they generally succeed in introducing the cast; so did the Orville pilot. We've had two prologue eps and the "real pilot" and I'm still waiting.
The captain is potentially interesting, but the other characters are still too much in Burnham's shadow. And way too much of characters praising her. If she's so awesome, show it! And explain how that fits with the first two eps.

Best episode yet. It was nice to finally see the Discovery and get a sense of what they are attempting. There are still plenty of mysteries left though.
On a side note, I tried watching it with Roku, but kept getting kicked out every 3 minutes or so. Had to watch it online. Anyone else have the same problem?
like i posted above, a producer said in After Trek last week that third episode is the pilot, the first 2 were expositions.

Overrated, sure, but you can't deny it was well-written, had great actors and characters, and told an engaging story. Maybe it was overhyped, and maybe it wasn't your cup of tea, but it certainly raised the bar for televised sci-fi-- that cannot be denied.
