Jake's Babylon 5 Watch

I was a bit confused by some of Delenn's dialog. I took it to mean that Kosh was not a Vorlon, but that he was one of the "Ancient Ones" posing as a Vorlon, with their support. I looked it up and saw clarification that they meant "all but one species" of Ancient Ones. And so Kosh either looks like an angle or maybe his form is dependent upon your own perception? I had seen what a shadow looked like before, commercials in the 90s. Those guys are cool.

Why didn't the Vorlons and Minbari vaporise Z'Ha'Dum back at the end of the war 10,000 years ago? Or whatever it was that happened 1,000 years ago? That actually made it seem like the Shadows aren't much of a threat. Maybe because the Shadows are predictable and always gather in the same place? Like it's easier to keep tabs on them?

If the Shadows have to manipulate from, well, shadows, like using Morden and setting the other powers at one another's throats to distract from them, why are we scared of them? They've been beaten so many times before. Are the Vorlons now weak enough to be conquered? The Minbari are losing their souls, are they actually becoming weaker? Don't answer.

There is a Vorlon proverb: "Understanding is a three edged sword". It will all make sense soon enough. :)

I want Londo to crash and burn after that nasty display. I guess it's not surprising that he should turn onto such a turd.

Oh, and I am not yet convinced that there wasn't something to Garibaldi's fakeout when Lyta sent the password into his head.

I'mma change my way of life to be Kosh. Like I won't speak except to say very ominous and ambiguous things. Oh, and Zathras lives on the planet below B5!

So Kosh seems to be an angel to everyone who sees him. I saw the first few minutes of the Season 3 opener and heard how it's hard for him to be seen by multiple people at once. So isn't actually an angel, but he looks like one. And in a way that's reminiscent of Galactus. I was so worried that the Season 2 finale would end with Sheridan having to sit by and let the Centauri destroy the Narn. I think it would be cool if B5 declared independence and gathered up the Drazi, pak'mar'a, other non-aligned worlds, Narn survivors and so on.

Also, JACK THE RIPPER!

Yeah. There's something to that. I read the word "ascension" in connection with B5 once. So I'm wondering if this show takes a page from Childhood's End. Maybe Londo's too contaminated by his association with Shadows. Maybe the Narns are just not a worthy species as a whole. Its too bad because Vir, Turhan and Timov are sympathetic characters, though with Londo's descent they're the only good Centauri.

And Andreas is a fantastic actor. I mean, really they all are. All of the characters who survive Season 2 are played by very talented performers.

It really is amazing how much your feelings about certain characters change as the show goes on.

Do you mean everyone or me specifically? I want for Londo what Vir wants for Morden.

'What did the last Xon say before he died?
Arghh!''

Gotcha. I'm halfway through the S3 premiere. So we have Gaius Baltar's noble cousin on the show, I see. And Zach is a main. Good for him.

Okay. Long time since posting. Here are some thoughts. The battles are AWESOME. Good to see the Shadows in action. I like Marcus Cole. I've seen Bester now twice this season. He's got his baby mama back.

Majel was fun to see. Probably the best character for her.

Glad they got rid of Night Watch and that Zach extricated himself.

Vir continues to be awesome. So sad about Steven. :(

I like the addiction storyline.

The coming together of the alliance is epic, and the White Star is so cool.

G'Kar is more heroic, but I wonder if it'll wear off if he discovers that Kosh tricked him.

THEY KILLED KOSH! NOOO!

Michael York did a fantastic job in A Late Delivery from Avalon. I think Joe is a tremendous writer. I figured out who York was "really" playing long before the reveal. His mention of Arthur and Mordred engaged in negotiations tipped me off.

I got my wife to agree to give it another try, starting with the S1 premiere. She now asks to watch it as she really enjoys it.
