Walking Dead Season 7 Discussion - Spoilers possible!

Finally they eliminated the Democrat Senator's son. Unfortunately for him she imparted too much of her Democratic values upon him that just don't work in a post apocalyptic zombie world. The entitlement he felt, the expectation that someone like Negan should do his dirty work for him, the "redistribution of wealth" he discussed with Negan.

Negan was right to gut him like a fish, my only regret is that he didn't ride him like a pony first.

Gregory has been on borrowed time since we met him. Wasn't his stabbing last season part of an indirect assasination attempt by the first Savior group?

I am not sure -- was that Negan or just an angry Hilltop member?

Uhh, I think the problem is that the kids were NOT like their parents... Deanna was smart enough to know that ALexandria needed Rick and company. Also, the sons were not compassionate like their dad (who was interested in passing on his knowledge to Noah before his untimely death)

Spencer had affluenza -- obviously growing up in the suburbs (where both liberals and conservatives live), and too scared and security-needy to listen to sense. He was raised way too dependent on his parents

Didn't she learn from Darryl ?

Now Olivia's blood is on her hands...and Eugene...?

My wife and I both said he was actually sounding like a pastor...and his words were absolute truth. If only Rosita heeded them!

She's too driven by revenge. Father Gabriel tried to redirect her with every rational idea in the world, but she only sees blood--and will be responsible for anything the disrespected Eugene suffers.

But shouldn't she keep a low profile...does she know that they told Negan she was dead?

Two things:

After the events of this episode--and once Negan learns his fat lackey was "Daryl-ed," I doubt learning about the deception will make matters worse. Negan is on edge, and looking for an excuse to get rid of Rick's crew.

Gregory is so corrupt, and filled with such deep resentment of his authority being disregarded, that I'm sure he's already informed Simon that Maggie and the rest of Rick's core group are plotting.

Good question.... did Jesus have boots like that?

Sort of similar, but he was at the Savior compound at the time the stranger was watching Rick and Aaron.

Also, no mention of Aaron by you guys? Seems like he really stepped up. He's always been a good guy, but has grown fro idealistic to extra-risk-taker and loyal to Rick's group. Definitley an asset. Is he pretty much the only ALexandrian left (that has a speaking part)?

Tobin and Francine still have the occasional speaking part.

During a marathon, I saw an episode where Spencer & Olivia were part of a group considering trying to rebel against Rick. EVen though it was one guy (forgot his name) who was the real instigator...are they all now dead?

The ringleader was killed at the beginning of season six, when he face was bitten during the walker round-up. The others were silent "redshirts" probably killed off during the Wolves attack.

The parents were responsible in setting up an opportunistic system where the sons were all on board with kicking people out into the wild, leaving anyone behind that poses a threat to survival, and judging anyone who did not fit into their pampered world where mommy and daddy send orders from On High.

In only the past two episodes, Spencer mentioned his mother's political career, as if that is some all-access pass for all others to worship Deanna's life and career. Class judgements were definitely a part of his problem.

Yeah, but they're not in Georgia, they're in Maryland/Virginia.

I just assumed it was a peach, may well have been an apple.

I thought it was an apple.

Spencer was a dick but I can't find it in myself to really hate him, from his perspective everything was fine before Rick showed up and then his entire family was wiped out. Rationally we and the rest of the characters know Alexandria was probably on borrowed time but it is at least possible to empathise with Spencer's thinking, even if I don't remotely agree with it.

Gabriel is rapidly becoming a cult hero! They're using him sparingly but every time they do he knocks it out of the park. I think he did get through to Rosita unfortunately Negan then gutted Spencer. Must kinda screw with you when you see the same guy viciously kill the last two people you were intimate with. Again, she's an idiot but I can see exactly why she acted the way she did.

Would a bullet not shatter a baseball bat? Or did Eugene (intentionally?) make it underpowered? On the plus side for Eugene you can imagine he might be treated pretty well (relatively) in the Saviour camp.

Daryl Lucille'ing that guy probably bothered me more than it should have. Glad Rick has his python back! (does he have any bullets though, the cylinder looked empty but that might have just been the camera angle as we were looking at it.

It's so nice to have Rick back, and to have some hope in the group again. A long way to go before they can take on Negan, but the resistance starts here!

Was the 'you won but you still lose' just the dead guy flipping them off, or something deeper (are the guns screwed with in some way?) Is it possible the secret watcher is the actual person who set the boat up? That was a good scene, guess Aaron dived under the walkers as they weren't able to submerge?

Peaches are notoriously crunchy and apple-like.

And why would not being in the Peach State make it more likely to be a peach, especially when they're now in apple territory? You lost me on that bit of logic...

He was a spoiled brat even before Rick showed up, and afterwards he only proved that all the more with his selfish hoarding of food, drink, and weapons. He didn't care about anyone other than himself. That made it pretty easy for me to hate him, with respect to the show.

Honestly, I found it to be way too soon for that. While I know a lot of people were tired of seeing Negan flaunting his power and dominance, it just didn't feel natural for the Group to overcome all of that so quickly and have Rick (apparently) back in full form. The dude was utterly broken, but his recovery was that easy? Eh...

No way to really speculate right now. There's just not enough information. The guy could have just been a nutjob, or he poisoned a stash of food he left as 'bait' for anyone who got past his defenses, or the whole set-up could have been a test by some unknown party, or it could be foreshadowing for the Whisperers as someone else mentioned, or... just about anything else. Again: There's just not enough information available to even make an educated guess, really.
