The bit about Pike falling to his knees on the bridge was from some crazy Facebook group back in the day, when the rumors first came out about the second half of season 2 being massively rewritten. Someone was very insistent that it was the original plan.
These were the same groups talking about a Discovery/Kelvin universe crossover movie earlier which we later learned was actually, really in development at one time.
I suspect Pike's confrontation of his future moment in Through the Valley of Shadows was related to the faith emphasis on the season that diddn't happen. It's practically a Garden of Gethsemane moment and it happens in a Klingon monastery.Is there any proof of this retooling? I've heard about it over and over, but the source is always a Youtube video or something else citing exactly zero sources.
If it's true, I want to know more about the ultra-religious Pike who was scripted to fall to his knees before the Red Angel, and clashed with Michael over science vs faith. SNW literally would never ever have happened

it was not Kurtzman alone, but simply this generation of star trek writers destroyed the franchise, they got the best job in the world and didnt make one really good star trek... LD is almost the best
SNW is the best, and far better than most of the old 24th/25th century stuff.
Age "destroyed" the franchise. But it's still here, being what it can be.
Inflation sucks because this destruction is really poorly done. The old stuff still stands.
If I were forced to make a choice, I would choose the entirety over the Kurtzman era over the entirety of Voyager and Enterprise.
