Discovery's gone on break and likely won't return to PlutoTV but the international Paramount+. Shedloads more Star Trek is coming. Picard, Lower Decks, Prodigy, Strange New Worlds and probably more. Is it enough to make you part with your pennies?

I've had it since the premier of Star Trek: Discovery and haven't discontinued membership since then. Since I'm a Star Trek fan, I actually use it more than I use Netflix.

If Disney didnt' have The Mandalorian and other upcoming SW shows, I would have parted ways with it a long time ago.

I’ve pretty much resigned myself to needing to having to rotate streaming apps. I’ve got enough already, so I’ll have to switch one off to turn another on. Which will mean it becomes in some ways a battle of the originals and exclusives.

And in terms of originals and exclusives, Netflix has been on a losing slide over the last 18 months. Personally, I think there’s only Stranger Things and Cobra Kai which are definitely remaining there and which are yet to be cancelled. Maybe The Ozarks, too. So, I’ll probably switch ‘Flix off while I sub to P+ and then switch back to Flix when there’s enough on there to binge over a month.

I think many will do the same, which will also, I think mean sub rates will go up for returnees or the competition for retention will hot up. Like, the time lapse for incentivised lower subs to kick in will reduce.

Turned it on for Lower Decks, and its been on since August. Will watch Prodigy till Discovery, then Picard, then SNW.. So I doubt I'll turn it off any time soon. Not many other series I watch, maybe the Old mission impossible, and its getting to the point of Star Trek only being on P+ since its leaving Netflix and Prime... sadly..
Only point I hate on P+ is that there app kinda sucks, and there CC Subtiles are.. well.. worthless I can still hear but I like to keep the subtitles on since I'm getting older and kinda miss the ocasional thing.
I'll keep Disney on for Book of Bob, afterwards ill shut it off.
Bout to kill Netflex for awhile, havent turned it on in awhile.

Thankfully here in the UK Paramount+ will come free with Sky Cinema, which I already have, so I can luckily continue to watch Star Trek without paying another penny.

Everyone not here for Star Trek say aye... crickets. ;)

Reminds me of an old movie scene. Paraphrased;

I need Prodigy, and that's all I need!
And Discovery. I need Prodigy and Discovery, and that's all I need!
And Picard. I need Prodigy and Discovery and Picard and that's all I need!
And Lower Decks. I need Prodigy and Discovery and Picard and Lower Decks, and that's all I need!
And SNW. I need Prodigy and Discovery and Picard and Lower Decks and SNW, and that's all I need!
I need Old Mission Impossible. I need Prodigy and Discovery and Picard and Lower Decks and SNW and old Mission Impossible, and that's all I need!!

;)

I have it.

What does Paramount+ even have besides Star Trek? Because yeah, I'm not getting another streaming service just for Star Trek.

Plus I don't really want to pay them for making Picard.

Yep. Already have Netflix, AmazonPrime, and Disney+ but happy to ditch Netflix (which I never watch) and I get Amazon free, so Disney+ and Paramount+ are my future.

Seriously considering ditching cable TV too.

I am about at the point of ditching Netflix as well. With MST3k going its own way, I don't have much reason to keep it. Most everything I watched on there has moved to other services and I don't care much about their own programming. They admittedly yank shows after 3 seasons so what's the point of getting too involved.

At the moment I have Netfilx, Paramount, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney and HBO. I tried Hulu for about a year but there just isn't anything on there I like. The only reason I have Netflix is because my daughters use it. The Disney subscription was a gift, but again, I never watch them. I'd have Prime anyway, and I just got HBO. I actually like the latter quite a bit.

I remember switching to streaming when the Netflix went online and roku boxes started getting sold because it would be cheaper than cable :D . Still is. Kind of. Sort of.

They've been advertising 1983 and Renner's new show. I think they've been trying to push those towards something other than Trek.

Paramount+ is the only streaming service I have. It's only $6 a month. I'd consider paying full price if they'd make a PS5 app.

Nope. That is why I haven't caught up with Discovery. Ever try to binge watch on a smartphone?
