I'm going with Karl Urban's McCoy.

The man had Deforest's McCoy down PAT and then some.

There wasn't nearly enough of him.

I loved Quinto as Spock. I've never liked Spock before I saw his performance. Infact I kind of disliked him. I always thought he was a condescending, patronizing, hypocritical, elitist, bigoted, snob. In TOS they never really showed his conflict with his human side that he always talked about and why he disliked it so much. Here they showed it. It made the character much more sympathetic to me now that I can actually see why he is the was he is. His romance with Uhura just added more to him as well. Here was a character I could really root for and relate to. Quinto just oozes charisma and style in such a subtle way it's uncanny. And seeing Spock completely pussy-whipped was hillarious.

I liked Pine a lot. He was just all types of fun. But it's hard to get past all that Shatneresque cheese and ham that we've been exposed to for decades. So a more grounded take seems more subdued when you're used to Kirk overexagerating every little word and movement. I like it. I just need to get used to it.

Bruce Greenwood was great as Pike. I could easily see him as a charimatic military leader. His no bullshit style and classic heroism made me easily see why everyone - even Kirk - worshiped the ground he walked on.

Uhura was fun times. She has sass and style and humor and depth. She always did, but we get to see it way more here because of her relationship with Spock. That turbolift scene was one of the most touching of the whole movie. I hope they keep this couple together for the next one. I really like them.

Simon Pegg nailed Scotty. If he was going to be good or not, well, that was never a question. The only question was how awesome was he going to be. I'd say he was about perfect. The only thing stopping him from being totally perfect was how little screen time he got. LOVE his little sidekick btw.

Yelchin was great as Chekov. He gets to do more then just be the young kid. His Charlie Bartlet-style of humor goes perfect with the character.

Bruce Greenwood as Pike
Chris Pine as Kirk
Zachary Quinto as Spock
Karl Urban as McCoy
Simon Pegg as Scotty
Zoe Saldana as Uhura
Anton Yelchin as Chekov
John Cho as Sulu
Ben Cross as Sarek
Farah Tahir as Capt. Robau
Chris Hemsworth as George Kirk

OK, then chalk one up for Ben Cross for me as well. I liked it that you liked him too.
You bet I liked him, too! Ben Cross was perfect as Sarek, really. He brought a certain gravitas to the character; even without having many scenes. I loved the bit where he is confessing to Spock that he married Amanda, because he loved her. I thought that was brilliant dialog! I'm thrilled to hear that line in Cross' original voice tomorrow.

One more thumbs up for Ben Cross from me...

Another from me, gentlemen. I was a little concerned at first, whether he could pull off Sarek (Mark Lenard was simply phenomenal in the role for so long) and like you, it was when he confesses that he loved Amanda, and that is why he married her, I was sold. Beautifully portrayed, I was convinced this man was Spock's father.

I thought Rabau with the short screen time he had just opened the movie beautifully. He WAS the captain. When the 'Terminated' message flashed on the viewscreen it was way more powerful than just seeing a ship destroyed because we actually got a glimps into who this guy was and that was only after a 2 minute performance...good actor.

Everyone was awesome. Karl Urban - McCoy was my favorite. When I heard him delivering lines in the commercials/trailers I was like "this guy is Mccoy"

Yeah, the shuttle scene is still my particular favorite.

1. Karl Urban - McCoy
2. Bruce Greenwood - Pike
3. Chris Pine - Kirk

Others were worthy but these three are special.

Honestly?

Karl Urban's McCoy. The closest of all the actors in mannerisms and personality to their original/classic counterpart.

Karl Urban had McCoy nailed. I thought everyone was great. I felt everyone captured the essence of the characters.

Although I'd like nothing better than to give Mc Coy a good snogging, I really loved Chekov. Hormones aside, I liked him the most.

I spent most of my years as an original Trek fan not really "getting" Spock much. Quinto has just blown me out of the water, so he definately gets my vote. I've always loved McCoy and Carl Urban was so superb he made me cry. And Yelchin as Chekov was wonderful. When they asked him how old he was and he said "17", I just fell in love with him (in a maternal way, I might add). What a tryer. And special mention to Captain Pike. Never really had much love for Jeffrey Hunter's Pike, but Greenwood made me really worry about him and maintained what I see as Hunter's chilly distance.

But Chris Hemsworth was pretty awesome in that opening vignette.

*Nods*

A great scene to open the movie and set the tone for the show.

I would go with Karl Urban as Bones. This was probably the only character that had to be the way he was in Star Trek TOS. There is some room for new character development, or putting your own twist on a character, but Bones had to be Bones. We were all waiting for the "I'm a doctor, not a ...." line.
