Favorite characters: Uhura, Kirk, Pike, McCoy; Honorable mentions: Sulu (for his badass scene on the platform), Sarek (for the scene were he "confessed" his love for Amanda); Least favorite characters: Scotty (annoying), Nero (generic villain/boring)

OK, then chalk one up for Ben Cross for me as well. I liked it that you liked him too.
You bet I liked him, too! Ben Cross was perfect as Sarek, really. He brought a certain gravitas to the character; even without having many scenes. I loved the bit where he is confessing to Spock that he married Amanda, because he loved her. I thought that was brilliant dialog! I'm thrilled to hear that line in Cross' original voice tomorrow.

You know his voice already a little of course, from the trailers. I think there is in fact a certain Mark Lenard-ish quality to him in that way.

I got to say that I voted for Chekov. Yelchin did far better with little material then I would have expected.

All the rest were great, giving what I was expecting.

I liked everybody but Quinto, Urban and Greenwood really stuck out as standouts. Urban especially, he was the one I was worried about, but he was excellent.

To really get a proper guage we should be forced to only pick one -- which is diffucult to do but how can we get an accurate read?

I think they all did pretty well, I have no problem with them doing impersonations but i think that is the wrong word to use...the original actors made the roles what they are...so these newbies need to embody them...not impersonate...again they all did well except Scotty and Uhura...I'm not saying they were bad...just different. I bought everybodys else's performance...especially Spock and even Pine did alright...when he said "spock" near the end of the movie it sounded just like willy -- there were a few of those moments...and i'm sorry but yeah I like that...i don't want them making these roles 'their own'...cause their not.

Pine. He carried the movie and was perfectly cast. He was perfectly believable as a young James T. and just like I had a crush on Shatner as a kid, I now have a new one

Quinto held his own as Spock, big shoes to fill, esp. since Nimoy was in the film, and in some scenes with him!

Well I voted for Quinto/Spock, but I admit the first thought that popped into my mind was Uhura just because Zoe Saldana gets hotter the more I think about her.

Spock, McCoy, Scotty (I had feared the worst, given my extreme dislike for the actor but damn he was funny) & Pike.

In truth, I enjoyed the performances a great deal, so even though there's not a lot of daylight between these choices, I put them in this order:

McCoy (man, Urban nailed it)
Kirk
Uhura (shed of the 60s sensibilities, the character makes more sense)
Spock
Pike
Scotty (big Pegg fan. So there were places I saw "Pegg" instead of "Scotty", but that's not the fault of the actor)

I think there all good, but I like Simon Pegg, just cause I've been of fan of his since Spaced.
Chekov took a bit getting used to, but I got used to the accent.
John Cho was great, though at first I just couldn't get the image of Harold from Harold and Kumar out of my head.
Urban-perfect, he just is McCoy
Quinto- was great as Spock, though I had to get use to not seeing him as Sylar
Pine- was great the entire movie, but towards the end of the film, he just became Captain Kirk to me.
I've been a fan of Bruce Greenword since Thirteen Days, he was great.
Jennifer Morrison-wish she was in it more, fan of her on House.
They were all great. Oh and I did see a little bit Of Pegg, instead of Scotty, but still he was great.
Uhura-was great as well, can't to see Zoe Saldana in James Cameron Avatar.
