I agree in theory, but Beverly was a massive part of Picard's life. To have her never appear would a colossal mistake.
She wasn’t remotely a massive part of his life throughout all four of the TNG films. So I think she’s just become a non-entity.
Maybe Picard's close relationship with Beverly meant that she wouldn't be allowed to certify him for active service.
Given the amount of plot, they didn't have enough time to service the entire ensemble. But that doesn't mean anything about how important a person Beverly is. And those films represent a minuscule part of the canon. Given that Picard and Beverly's relationship was a major component of the proper series finale, it's safe to say it's an important part of the canon/Picard's life.
You might as well say, "Well, they didn't service the Picard/Beverly relationship much in the episode 'Preemptive Strike', so clearly the writers didn't care about it!"
Clearly they're just saving her up for a more important scene or story arc rather than just a scene which was largely expositional.
Was she really though? She was the wife of his friend, and they served together for fourteen years. I'm not sure that after 94 years, that it would constitute a massive part of his life.
Her name was absent when Laris was mentioning old Enterprise friends Picard could get to help him.
Someone that you were in love with for years will always be a "part of your life", even if they're not physically present.
PIcard was looking to get some Ba'ku tail by the time Insurrection rolled around. They tried the nasty, Beverly found out he was flaccid and 24th century Cialis wasn't fixing the issue and they went their separate ways.
Doesn't mean that is the person you turn to when you need it. She's either dead or they had a falling out.
Agreed. Beverly had known Picard from the late 2340s when she was engaged to his best friend and Stargazer's XO Jack Crusher. Of all the TNG characters, Beverly had known Picard the longest and they became very close during the time they served together in the Enterprise-D and -E.
Having said these, this isn't the first time the two of them grew apart from each other. They didn't have any contact for a dozen years from the time of Jack's death to the time Beverly began her service as the D's CMO. The show-runners could've easily written that the two had grown apart again from the time of 'Nemesis' - where Beverly transferred to Starfleet Medical - and Picard continued on as the E-Captain and then promoted into Admiralty.
Beverly was quite agitated when Picard started dating Anij in 'Insurrection' and I think her decision to leave the E and transfer to Starfleet Medical was motivated by the fact that she realized Picard has no inclination to become romantically involved w/her and it is now time for her to move on to the next stage on her career.
If we're ever going to see her in 'Picard' I think this is where they're going to leave her relations with Picard. They grow apart again post-Nemesis and have never seen each other until Picard's new adventures brought them together one more time. Perhaps Picard's growing Irumodic Syndrome needs further medical attention and as someone who had known Picard's medical history for a long time, Beverly is one of the few doctors who can remedy his medical condition.

Yes and no. Sometimes it's too painful to turn to them. Especially if you're not on speaking terms.
Because Picard knew that Beverly would go off on him over the notion of returning to space at his age and probably try to talk him out of it.

You're not even listing the best captain. I'd be more pumped up if the show was called Star Trek: Sisko.
Dorn also had 4 more years on a different show to develop Worf. He is the superior actor, but it's not like Gates is completely inept. Beverly did virtually nothing in any of the movies while Worf always came back to kick ass. That's more on the writing than the acting.
I also will say that Beverly is 4th on my list of favorite Trek Doctors.
The last time that I remember it being seen talked about was Garrett Wang speaking at a convention with Jeri Ryan several years ago and Garrett being on the edge of tears about how difficult it was because it was like two family members fighting and never getting along. So she ended up consoling him.
Personally, I'd fake cry to get a hug from Jeri Ryan in a second, but he seemed genuinely upset that the two never really managed to bury the hatchet.
