Ooooh, him. For some reason I barely paused to look at him while scanning the image. I mean, there is A LOT to take in and process in the thing. Yeah, that's very likely Luke.

Bringing us back on topic... Can anyone find Crusher, Kim, Janeway or Waldo? ;)

I just have found Waldo. He is with Urkel.....

Okay, so the moderation decided to put the threads together. Although I don't like such 'monster threads' and am a fan of smaller threads, I, of course, accept this decision. So my posting is just about some of the given arguments.

Wow 3 episodes in and they haven't name dropped EVERY CHARACTER EVERRRRRRRRRRRRR. How can we continue to watch this?

Episode 1 should've been just Picard sitting in front of his holoscreen and calling every single main/recurring character still alive, even those he never ever talked to, just to ask how they've been. For added variety, some could've called him themselves and talked over the ones he was already talking to, until it all would've exploded into a cacophony of 50+ open conversations on the same screen.

Considering Picard's history with Ensign Kim, it would make sense for him to appear somewhere in Picard - of course still an ensign.

Although I think the OP is just having a little fun, do we really need new threads every minute about where some character is?

No, we do not.

Right, because it's obvious that every character, element, and plot thread from TNG, DS9, and VOY is eventually going to be called out by someone as "needing to be addressed in PIC."

So, you don't see the difference between Crusher/Janeway on the one side and a character like Bashir on the other side?

In my case, the question about Janeway was 'triggered' by the given story in this 3 (now 4) episodes. Especially, it's the whole "Picard vs. admirality"-situation, that brought me to Janeway. A Crusher remembrance can be triggered in the second episode, where Picard received the same diagnosis (!) from a doctor, he knows from the Stargazer (!!), that he received from Crusher in TNG. In this scene, I also asked myself, why they didn't use Crusher in it. And when the picture of an admirality, that no longer represents the same values like Picard, is drawn, this picture also involves Janeway as a part of the admirality. In addition, Picard had a (more or less) friendly relationship to both.

So the questions about the whereabouts of these two episodes didn't just come out of nowhere. Of course, everybody can call out that XY is "needing to be addressed in PIC", yes. So, on a case-by-case-basis, the given arguments seems to be very important, didn't they? And I would claim, that the arguments for this are, in the case of Janeway or Crusher, stronger than e. g. in the case of Bashir (because there was no mention of Section 31 or any other storyline, he was related to) or Harry Kim (who never had any relationship to Picard in the episodes).

Here’s the thing: the show is called Star Trek: Picard. The story is about him. If there are ancillary characters that the writers want to put in the story, it’s because they are there to enhance the story about Picard. If Crusher isn’t integral to the story they’re trying to tell about Picard, we will not see her. Janeway is not integral to the story so we won’t see her either. I suppose they could have given her the part that went to Admiral Clancy, but then the focus becomes Janeway, not Picard. That’s not what they want to do.

Shelby was the "Borg expert" because she spent a year and a half just re-reading reports about what the Enterprise crew actually went through themselves. By this point, plenty of people have had the chance to catch up with her.

Yes. Janeway and Seven alone know more about the Borg than Shelby. Not to mention Picard as well.

I'm wondering whatever became of Tomalak and Sela, if they ever got off of Romulus or were even on Romulus at the time of the supernova. For that matter what happened to the D’deridex and Valdore classes of Romulan Warbird ships?

Since Tomalak was played by Andreas Katsulas (of Babylon 5 fame) and he has sadly died in 2006, we won't be seeing him again.

Now Sela.... that's a different question ;)
I personally wouldn't mind seeing her, but lots of folks here would rather gouge out their eyes..
