What's in YOUR 'head canon'?

Maybe they don't need to go home, but it could complicate matters. AR Spock and several other Vulcans have pon farr problems in the IDW comics "After Darkness" arc. Because Vulcan is gone, they roam New Vulcan, going feral with homesickness and unsatisfied urges.

Everything? What about popular episodes like Terra Prime? Similutude?

I also find the argument that there are issues when events don't get mentioned in the future to be silly. Given how little the average person knows about history, I don't know why people expect fictional characters to name drop historical figures. How many people were talking about Hamilton before the musical came out? Even when you're a history buff, it doesn't make for good small talk.

I don't know the episode titles of Enterprise episodes. I didn't like it enough to care. None of the episodes I saw were anything to write home about anyway and I saw most of them.

FYI this thread is about our own personal "head canon" so I don't think anyone needs to justify their own thoughts to you.

Similitude was the one where they create a clone of Trip. Terra Prime was the one with Trip and T'Pol's baby. I'm just curious as to how someone can't find a single positive thing about these episodes.

I dont remember Trip's clone. I do remember Trip and T'Pol's baby but not the specifics of the episode. Enterprise wasn't very memorable in my opinion. Sorry to disappoint you.

My head canon is that each production takes place is a different universe, but the universes are closely related, so that any needed history points from TOS say brought up in dialog in TNG still work, but perhaps the details weren't 100% identical.

That's genius!

I guess mine is TOS/TAS/TMP/TWOK and then it gets picky-choosey.

And I want Final Reflection and Spock's World made into mini-series.

The Starship class was the first ship with a saucer. (Why not?) And compared to any of it's contemporaries it looked like a Star Destroyer.

Oh, and Starship class is my preferred term. Says so on the label. I grew up with Constitution Class and I love it dearly, but the show says Starship. I MIGHT wiggle and say that she was launched as a Constitution class but that the Five Year Mission ships were the Starship Class. (This is contradicted on screen by both Where No Man Has Gone Before AND The Cage, I believe.)

The Enterprise was not originally part of the Five Year program. But when she failed to breach the Galactic Barrier she was refitted and put in with the other 11 ships.

The refit is the Enterprise class. "Complicated fellow, isn't he?"

I'm open to the notion that Kirk may have graduated before Spock. (I checked the numbers. It can certainly be close.)

But hey. This is all just me. That's what head canon is all about!

But is it REALLY a spoiler? Anyone who checks IMDB or Memory Alpha can get the complete cast list, without even seeing the film. And it's not as if Shohreh Aghdashloo's involvement was some kind of secret.
I'd say that in this case it sounds like a minor enough detail to let it go, but I would recommend erring on the side of spoiler code when discussing details of the new film, as some people do go out of their way to avoid spoilers of any kind.

The thing about Riker always standing so close to people? That's probably got something to do with the back injury that Jonathan Frakes suffered while moving furniture. It's the reason why he's always leaning on something (like a control panel or desk), why he walks like he's trying to knock something down with his shoulders, and why he always sits in chairs in the weird way that he does.

You mean this weird way of sitting?

Outside of the TV series (absolutely including TAS) and movies I have a bit of a rule if it involves the 'canon' actors in their parts it's canon, so that would take in videogames, a few pieces of audio, live experiences (Vegas, that thing with Tuvok and Wes on the Titan) and of course fan films (New Voyages, Of Gods and Men, Renegades, Yorktown etc).

I love comics as a medium so I like to count what I read as well as other fan film favourites like Hidden Frontier, Intrepid, Contonues, Farragut and Phase II. (in my head Continues is Season 4 NV/Phase II is Season 5)

I confess I'm not a novel reader but I've heard a fair few audiobooks like Crossover which is good. Also I love Shatner's novels of Kirk in the 24th Century, BUT I know some of the above don't fit quite into the one timeline (is there such thing as canon?! It's all fiction...)

I didn't know why he did that back in the day, but I always loved that he did.

For me, the following are canon:

TOS; TAS (but it doesn't have to be); TMP; TWOK; TSFS; TVH; TUC [TFF didn't happen]

TNG TV eps only -- NO TNG MOVIES! That story ends with "All Good Things". Kirk is alive and well in the 23rd century, sending holo-messages each year for Spock's birthday.

DS9; VOY -- I had Trek fatigue by this point, so I lost touch with the stories. They can be canon, but don't have to be.

ENT -- NOT CANON. The worst of the bunch, retconning or changing much of the established franchise history. The "Klingon mutation virus" is definitely not canon! I'm happy for every episode to be one of Riker's holo-porns.

Post-VOY (e.g. Novelverse): I don't know much about them beyond stuff I read online, but I like the idea that the 1701-D crew has moved on and continue their adventures. Canon is OK!

JJ-Trek: Canon alternate universe. I like them. The model of the NX-01 on Marcus' desk is just a kitbash he made, not a real ship! :techman:

Why not just assume that Enterprise is the prequel series to the Alternate Universe, where it can all be canon, without interfering with the stuff you feel it "breaks" in the Prime Universe? Then the model works, and the Ent references throughout the trilogy work, and it still leaves your other timeline completely untouched. ;)

Most people have extreme reactions to Terra Prime. They fall into 2 camps.

a) People who think the baby works very well as a tearjerker.
b) People who hate the emotional manipulation of including the baby.

Fascinating that you don't fit either category.
