What would you do with $100 million?

Never claimed that I would, although that's the best investment one could make right now. I expect these Astrid mining corporations to becoming richest entities in human history within 25 years.

Not really seeing demand in that time scale for ferrous metals, silver and aluminium given the current reserves on Earth although it will save dragging them out of the gravity well in order to build the infrastructure. Now if you're talking indium, gold, platinum, rhodium, tellurium, rare earth elements and perhaps copper, you might well be correct. I've left He3 off the list for now until we have the fusion technologies to exploit it. However, it probably would be worth extracting and storing it for when those technologies becomes available.

Can't say I'm up to date on such things, though.

Buy a bungalow in a nice area and build a indoor swimming pool so I can excise when I feel like it.
Give some money to my family then build a shit load of soical housing.

I've actually thought this out more times than I care to admit (being unemployed and permanently disabled has some perks).

Anyway, I'd put most of it in the bank, but I'd also give some to certain charities and then use any leftovers from that as funds to visit all my long-distance friends.
