So, noone is interested in History with Artificial Singularity's the Romulans used? No M/AM reactors or Dilithium (Unless it DOES Use dilithium for some contrived reason)
Suddenly Federation Outpost guy chilling for years likely with a luxurious holodeck on hand doesn't seem so crazy anymore, assuming that being shot at and dealing with criminals is an average day for Book and other people like him out in the real galaxy. Most, but not all of it went boom. Most people, not willing to risk another boom, are not traveling by warp. Only those with limited options, and thus make their living doing something potentially risky (using dilithium), are competing for the small amount that is left.
The, uh, Zhat Vash wiped out all data on artificial singularities because they, uh, can.So, noone is interested in History with Artificial Singularity's the Romulans used? No M/AM reactors or Dilithium (Unless it DOES Use dilithium for some contrived reason)

I can dig it......Can't believe it's been a week already. Looking forward to midnight PST!Most, but not all of it went boom. Most people, not willing to risk another boom, are not traveling by warp. I had no idea Peter Noone was into FTL technologiesSo, noone is interested in History with Artificial Singularity's the Romulans used? No M/AM reactors or Dilithium (Unless it DOES Use dilithium for some contrived reason)
Like some others have speculated. The power in a federation warp core is generated by a matter antimatter reaction; and the dilithium crystals regulate that reaction to make use of the power generated. So, noone is interested in History with Artificial Singularity's the Romulans used? Or... the Iconians are returning, killing interstellar warp travel as a prelude to invasion? Hmm... This multiple galaxy thing definitely adds a new dimension to the mystery.
God I hope not. One person cannot be at the center of all things in the universe all the freakin' time! At best, it stretches credulity of the show and does nothing to help the audience maintain suspension of disbelief. At worst, it will give the insipid "Mary Sue" crowd fresh new red meat upon which to gorge themselves. It's just simply too implausible. I really hope they don't go there. I much prefer a "Q Magic" solution to that.Nope. Burnham is the cause of the Burn. I guaran-freaking-tee it.
This would be better. Marginally so, but still better. I suspect the show runners have been looking for a way to fully integrate DISCO into Prime Universe canon to discredit the haterz, and that may be what they can use.I wonder if the extra-galactic AI, evidenced in Picard, might be the cause of The Burn?
The "wormhole research" is a reference to the 2013 videogame, where the Gorn arrive from an extragalactic wormhole. No, but this does.

Episode 3 will reveal that in the 30th century, all dilithium went inert, and all ships with active warp cores detonated.
Tell Burnham! Can't have went inert since ships are still using it.

The "transwarp network" is likely in reference to transwarp radio, from Lora Johnson's Mr. Scott's Guide to the Enterprise where Star Trek Into Darkness gets much of it's on-screen technobabble (most notably the shield tech). The map of the transwarp network is in the same style as the "subspace comms network" graphics from that book.
