What properties or shows are you surprised nobody has rebooted?

I'm surprised there haven't been dark/gritty remakes of Bewitched or I Dream of Jeanie

Yeah, after Riverdale and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I'm kinda surprised that this isn't a thing.

Not a chance in hell Jeannie would ever fly these days, in the age of MeToo...

Oh, I dunno. If we're going a dark gritty reboot, maybe she feels like Tony used her and abandoned her, so she becomes a dark agent of vengeance and starts using her magic to ruin his life.

For Jeannie, why go a dark gritty reboot? I mean, ever since BSG Re.. its always been.. it has to be dark and gritty, Can't it just still be a comedy??
Same basic premise would still work, astronaut finds a bottle, Jeannie pops out, falls in love, and follows him back home, and tries to make him fall in love with her, with hijinks insue.
Now Jeannie's wardrobe would be changed, Change the character to middle eastern since the Genie concept is that, and she said in the show she was from Bagdad.
The her calling him master all the time could be a running joke, with him Always saying, don't call me master.

It could work, and show Jeannie break free from her Genie background and be her own woman, not under the guy. Empowering to women. Though a certain sect of feminists would still get there knickers in a twist.. :shifty:

You could fairly easily add an "evil leaper" story to a Quantum Leap reboot/sequel without making it cheesy and turning them into comic book supervillains. Maybe they've been sent back in time to alter certain events to benefit whoever it is they're working for, i.e. manipulating financial stuff, making certain people who once got in their bosses' way "disappear" or discrediting them, etc. You don't make the whole story about that, of course, but it could be done to give the show a little bit of serialization (which is expected in TV these days) instead of being full-blown episodic like the original show was.

Not saying Jeannie could go dark for some episodes, I mean people together do argue, usually or stupid stuff. So maybe a bad day, or maybe somebody at work was being to forward and Jeannie catches them together, and goes bonkers. But that could also be comedy gold, like sending Tony back to 5 BC bagdad.. :)

Well, yes; they have all of the actual 90s shows. I meant a modern show.

The point of the 70s show was that it showed a lot of stuff that was going on in the 70s but not allowed to be shown on television. I know the 90s didn't portray this either--but what elements of the 90s are people nostalgic for?

Flannel? Matchbox 20? A world before presidents W. and Trump? Going outdoors? Physical contact? The comic book speculation bubble?

I would love some kind of Farscape reboot. The universe is brilliant IMHO. B5 too:biggrin:
it would need to keep the puppets and just let the Jim Henson Company go wild with creating new aliens. I do get the impression that they would love to do more with that universe if given the chance.

Everything. The 90's was great. Last great time for awesome music. Great clothes at least in the early part of the 90's. Star Trek was at the height of it's popularity along with other space sci-fi taking off and also I was young with hope for the future and my grandma and grandpa was still alive though my grandpa did die in 1996. No 9/11 or Trump or Social Media bullying or Iraq War. The internet was taking off and it was the best of time to be on the internet because it was all about fun and corporate America hadn't come in yet and ruined it.

One show I definitely can't see being rebooted would be Three's Company. I mean, it's a good show for its time, but that's just it. It just wouldn't fly today.
