What games are you playing currently?

Are the old Wing Commander games any good? I've been curious about them ever since I found out the live action sequences had actors like Mark Hamill, Malcolm McDowell, and John Rhys-Davies in them.

They're good when you get them working. I remember them being a pain in the ass to get working perfectly in order to get video and sound to function properly. Lots of tweaking of files and playing with memory.

I enjoyed them back in the day, but it's been a long time (and I didn't enjoy Prophecy as much as Three and Four). GOG usually has them relatively cheap though. At the time I last played them, boot disks were a neccessity.

1 and 2 and Privateer are all awesome, cracking stories and great gameplay, 3,4 and Prophcey are fine but in my view went too far down the full motion video route and they lost that WC all done in animation look and feel from the first two....but if you have never tried any of them then you are in for a treat, and they are all avalible of GOG and quite cheap as well, al under £5 i believe, or you could wait for a GOG bundle sale, they are always very good value.

Was playing Rise of the Tomb Raider on my xbox 360 yesterday, unlocked three new achievements - "The Price of Truth" (finish the game on any difficulty), "Voices of the Past" (collect 75% of all narrative assets - relics, murals, and documents), and "Weaponsmith" (fully upgrade any weapon). Still only 85% complete with the game, and there are 60 more achievements to unlock.

Rise was my favourite of the trilogy but I find I'm liking Shadow a bit more now and only have one more tomb to finish. Shadow is not a great game but to look it it's gorgeous. There are a few gameplay restrictions which annoy me like the outfit restriction which still applies after beating the game and makes no sense at all in that context, and one or two minor bugs which did resolve themselves.

I've enjoyed the first two reboot games more than the ones that came out on the 360 forever ago. Can't play the third 'til I get a Xbox One again.

Rocket League keeps pulling me back. And somehow I suck a little bit more each time.

Started and finished Tacoma (PC) the day before yesterday, took me roughly 2 hours (I was taking my time with exploration and taking in the environmental storytelling). Perfect length for the kind of experience they were going for.

Fullbright are just really, really good at this.

If I got them it would be the downloadable versions on GOG.com, so I'm not sure how much of an issue that would be.

Seeing them on GOG is what got me curious about them. I was aware of them because I'm a big fan of a lot of the actors involved, but I never considered playing them until I saw them on GOG. I'm in the US and they're $5.99 each here, so it's a pretty good deal.
I finished Spyro 2 a few days ago and now I'm playing Spyro 3.
The originals or remasters?

^^I love the GOG version because they just work, i still have the boxed versions of 3,4 and Prophecy but would hate to try and get them to work via dosbox, so a few quid for GOG to sell me a working copy is in my view well worth it, i am playing through Eye of the beholder series again from GOG as we speak. :-)

A few games of Chess against the computer. I lost each time, the program is way stronger than me.

^^Well they are doing the work so i don't mind throwing a few quid their way for it, plus your getting a game with it, and there would be no way i would sit and try to get all my old disc based Dos games to work today, not a chance, i have become far too lazy, the days of sitting for hours on end trying to get a couple of good dos config disk's to run your games is long gone, i now want two clicks of a button and i am away. lol
