good question. we had a b. dalton here in the mall until sometime earlier this year when B&N moved into the other end.^b. dalton is owned by B&N while waldenbooks is owned by borders.
Hasn't B. Dalton been out of business for a few years?
As for Waldenbooks, I don't think they are around either anymore. At least not in NYC.

it also wouldn't surprise me if waldenbooks had been shuttered as well as a cost cutting move by borders.
I haven't seen a Dalton or Waldens in NYC in ages.
I picked up a copy yesterday at a West Village B&N in NYC. Now I just need a few uninterrupted hours to read it![]()

But Waldenbooks has been closed for a few years now as far as I know.
^^There is always the chance I simply misinterpreted what I read when it came to that part of course.

Fair enough. Perhaps "religious" is the wrong word. Maybe reverence is better. Either way, my feeling is that after Voyager's previous time in the Delta Quadrant, everyone in command is going to be treading lightly and more inclined to err on the side of caution with new species they encounter.

Thanks for posting your thoughts. I'm glad the book worked for you.

Kirsten,
Congratulations on becoming a first time mom. She's beautiful.
How does it feel?
If Eden has been promoted out of command of Voyager, it's a shame, I would have liked to see her remain in command of the ship itself for several novels at least - as opposed to handing the reigns back to Chakotay immediately.
