If we agree on this, then it's more than likely that is what it will be :/God that is ugly.

That doesn't make any sense. If we agree on this, then it's more than likely that is what it will be :/
What does that have to do with this discussion? We're talking within Discovery, not outside of it.
That doesn't make any sense.
Since CBS tends to do things that do not please anyone, they are likely pick a design that will be disliked by everyone. That doesn't make any sense.
The Oberth didn't match any other Starfleet ship of its era, the Defiant didn't match any other Starfleet ship of its era.The Klingon ships in Discovery are part of the Discovery series aesthetic. They are vastly different than what we have seen before in Trek. I am saying that TPTB could just as easily decide to make the Enterprise vastly different down the line, if they choose to do so, to be more in keeping with the overall series aesthetic. People have already noted that even though the Enterprise is altered from TOS, it still doesn't really fit the overall series aesthetic.

Star Trek has always had ships that don't follow the general lines of the ones around it.
Diversity should be expected in a space faring empire. The Klingon ships in Discovery are a much more radical departure than those examples.
But they're consistent within Discovery itself. That is what I'm getting at.The Klingon ships in Discovery are a much more radical departure than those examples.

Stop looking at the outside shows for a minute.

Why would they retcon ships if it is a sequel? Are they doing flashbacks? If it is a sequel, going in to the future, the general consensus I've read around here is that Discovery style ships make sense in a future Starfleet. This seems to be hyperbolic for the sake of making a point that no one is arguing for. What if Picard spin-off is a sequel to TNG but their retcon all TNG ships to match STD visuals? There will be HEEELLL to pay within Trek Fandom.
It it far outside of the realm it's in a different reality. What I'm saying is that something like the image that I posted is not outside the realm of the Discovery aesthetic.
Since the refit is an "almost totally new ship. You don't know her a tenth as well as I do", they should look fairly different.
I really hate this Enterprise design. Such a shame.

After seeing this for the first time a few minutes ago, I'm wondering if TPTB have something like this in mind for future remastering of TOS, to fit in with Discovery.
I will say that it's quite amazing:
If the current trend continues, something like this is not an unrealistic answer to that question:

That reminds me of some of the artwork from the Best of Trek paperback covers.
It's interesting, in its own way....

And the pink cushion chairs. That '90s conference room decor has to go.
I always thought the Oberth shared stylistic lines with the Excelsior. Makes sense since they were designed for the same film. The Oberth didn't match any other Starfleet ship of its era, the Defiant didn't match any other Starfleet ship of its era.
