It does yes, better if they had stuck with the minimal makeup we saw in ToS for the Klingons and its easily explained away by the events in Enterprise. That's the flipside of that problem, yes.
But I think there's a middle ground somewhere. I think the DSC Klingon makeup does make it harder for the actors to emote and speak, but they look more alien than before, which isn't a bad thing. They just need those mustaches and eyebrows back.
I don't think so, when Human Voq spoke Klingon he sounded exactly the same as he did with his make up on.and speak
Agreed.I pick neither.
Would that be believable to a 2017 audience? Brown face and Mongolian-eque beards? There is no downside to that? O_oIt does yes, better if they had stuck with the minimal makeup we saw in ToS for the Klingons and its easily explained away by the events in Enterprise.
Would have been much easier on the actors with no real downside.
Another change that just wasn't necessary.
It would be no worse than the Vulcans/Romulans with their pointy ears and dodgy haircuts which haven't changed in over half a century.Agreed.

With due respect, yes it is worse. Pointy ears is not really present in a current human race or ethnic group. It would be no worse than the Vulcans/Romulans with their pointy ears and dodgy haircuts which haven't changed in over half a century.
I doubt it would have bothered anyone and it can be easily explained away with all racial types included this time, anything is better than the mess we were given, hats off to the actors for soldiering through, it must have been bloody horrible.
Come on now, whether or not pointy ears exist in the human race right now has nothing to do with it and you know it.With due respect, yes it is worse. Pointy ears is not really present in a current human race or ethnic group.
Compare that to brown face make up? Sorry, I still don't see how that would be ok.

Lol...T'Kuvma was speaking Klingon ebonics!unless it was dubbed...
Or maybe it's the opposite and all the klingons are dubbed.
..not Tkuvma though. He def has something hampering his speech.
Lol...T'Kuvma was speaking Klingon ebonics!
Um, no, I didn't know it. Can we not do that, please?Come on now, whether or not pointy ears exist in the human race right now has nothing to do with it and you know it.
So, if I am understanding correctly, this is a desire to make the aliens in Star Trek look cheaper? As I said use actors from all racial groups with no limitations, no paint required, it works fine for the Vulcans after all.
The makeup for the Klingons could have been simple and quick to apply making life for the actors and makeup artists so much easier.
Just blame it on the virus from Enterprise and say they are gradually restoring their ancestral appearance but it will take centuries to achieve, with it all sorted out by TNG.
Since you're new and this is your first offense, I'm going to let this go with just a friendly warning. Do not make racially charged comments like this again or it will result in an infraction.Lol...T'Kuvma was speaking Klingon ebonics!

You are the one who used it as a reason in your reply to my original post, however I will assume you misunderstood me and will leave that particular issue alone.Um, no, I didn't know it. Can we not do that, please?

As I have stated before, perhaps the Klingons were not the best choice to try and bring out a full alien, but I respectfully disagree with the thinking that making make-up more cheap and easier is the way to bring Star Trek in to the contemporary media market.
I was thinking along similar lines myself, the so called pure Klingon houses who successfully avoided the virus would consider any of the virus affected Klingons as beneath them similar to many of the real worlds royal families in the past. These should have just been the most purebread line of Klingons, upset at the Federation and human influence literally infecting their species and culture while encroaching on their territory. They should have seen the augment virus as a form of attack. They should have been adhering to a culture and philosophy that predated the other houses of Klingons. A lost house, if you will. They could have been as different and alien as they were, and had their aesthetics and sihp designs, without breaking any canon.
