USS Enterprise (eventually) on Discovery?

No, Disco's deflector has an antenna in it, too. The two are very similar.
No I meant the area around the antenna, the Discovery's dish isn't shaped like that.

It's the Shenzhou's dish

Discovery (the design isn't very consistent between shots):

Yeah I just saw that, you're right. In any case, the whole thing is very similar on both ships, if not identical. But we could already see that in the episode where we see the ship class.

Did you mean the Malachowski? The T'plana is a flat ship.

The T'Plana-Hath. This one.

She shares some design echoes of the Miranda-class starships that come about twenty or thirty years later.

The Mirandas (if they exist in this reality ;)) would probably exist right now. Reliant was NCC-1864. The assumption always was that they got refit along with the Constitutions around the same time as Enterprise.

I'd love to see the DSC version of the pre-refit Reliant. I hope someone will do a rendering.

The T'Plana-Hath looks like a Miranda and an NX-class starship from over 100 years earlier had a love child and gave it rectangular nacelles for its first birthday.

I was hoping the overdone lights on the saucer in the previous fan rendering were a mistake, but they look just as bad here. Ugh. They've managed to trump the weird shuttle bay lip and the potato peeler pylons as my least favorite part of the design.

Nah this is the best.

Anyways you said uninspired. How?
It's only unique feature is split nacelle pylons, otherwise it's just a combination of TOS and TMP Enterprise elements, and NX-01 textures.

Compare with the Kelvin universe Enterprises, which introduce new shapes and curves, change established colours etc or even Gabe Koerner's version, which brings in some harsher shapes and battleship-style hull details.
