I don't know if it's a problem to post a YouTuber's video here, but what he said on the subject caught my attention.

It's not like these two audiences want to see different things. The Mario Bros. movie was loaded with lore from the games, but It was a good, fun, movie so people came to see it.

The Trekkies want to see a movie that connects the dots with what they already know. The casual moviegoer wants to see a fun movie with explosions and sexy people.

Be careful, people here are getting triggered by RMB. They have RMB derangement syndrome (RMBDS).

No. Just an allergy to bullshit.

He's a big bull shit peddler and John Campea isn't any better. There's no reason to trust anything they say.
Yes, there's no reason to trust what you're saying. They're not the decision maker on Star Trek, but what they're saying doesn't seem unreasonable.

Of course there's no reason to trust what I'm saying. You don't know me. But history might impact that. RMB's history is one I don't trust.

So why should I lend credence to anything this person is saying?

I was actually talking about RMB.
But, if someone is citing a person I don't trust why should I trust them? RMB is tied to the whole Alec Peters fan film debacle and not someone I can take seriously. That he gets given any air time is not going to make that history improve

I didn't even know RMB was a producer, let alone his name. I only know about the releases he made with John. I shared it because what he said made sense.

For a movie, though, I think that the Powers That Be would emulate J.J. Trek. Emphasize action-adventure,to draw in people who aren't fans.
