Chakotay and Seven was just a bad idea from the start. It makes Worf/Troi look like something out a Bronte Sisters novel.

I was specifically referring to Chakotay.

Seven/Chakotay is the worst major pairing in the franchise, bar none. Look, I get it; you don't have to do the Seven/The Doctor thing that many of us wanted. You should do what feels best instead.

Unless what feels best is somehow Seven/Chakotay. Then, dear writers, you should sleep it off and come in fresh tomorrow.

That the election was stolen was a minority opinion too...

This thread is about Strange New Worlds, not Voyager.

I don’t see any green under your name, so maybe keep the micro-modding to a nonexistent minimum, m’kay?

He crawled around inside her head and then he told her he loved her. They had a neural link ("Scorpion Part II").

    He violated her.

He was logically also violated by that Borg Co-operative. It seems ex-Borg dating is a minefield. Were the assimilated away team also in Sevens head in unimatrix zero and dark frontier?
There is a nice fan edit of endgame that sets seven with Harry.

Edit: just to add she chose holochakotay as her inflatable practice dummy. That’s a whole can of huh too.

Star Trek has struggled with rape for a while.

I personally think her being Bi is good and better then her being one way, I for one would like less black and white sexuality's.

As for strange new worlds I hope we see more catians, Andorians, and what ever Arex's speices is. We could do the things TOS never could because lack of budget and technology! You can say that no matter ho much you like TOS, its limitations show

I always knew them as Edoans (likely from FASA), but I guess Edosian is the more official term these days.

And yes, I would love to see more of those lesser-used species, although I think we're more likely to see them in the upcoming animated series than anything live-action, particularly as a main or recurring character, but I could be wrong.

I think actual Atex should be in SNW. Three arms is easy these days.

And even in 1966 that had to make people cringe.

Not EVERYONE in 1966 was a sexual miscreant or turned a blind eye to sexual assault on a woman. ;) That line is just cringey across generations.

The kindest thing you could say is maybe the Coke Zero of emotional understanding that is Spock, was thinking mainly of when ‘bad’ Kirk was being a bit of a charmer, as opposed to the whole attempted rape thing. On the plus side, good Kirk and whole Kirk did get it, and did try to make sure Rand knew it wasn’t ‘him’ and also tried to make sure she was ok after everything that happened. But pretty sure a lot of people, men and women, did cringe back then.

Humans: we're not entirely awful no matter what people might think.

And trust me: I've seen the old UPN, WB and CW network lineups. We as a species have a lot to answer for.
